Hi I'm Sarah

I grew up in Eastern Washington and I love helping people. I am a mother of 2. I help mentally ill clients. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love to cook and share what I cook with others. Baking sweet things is my specialty. It is important to enjoy the sweet things in life. I love reading and being outside in nature, camping and exploring this beautiful world we have been given. I am married to a wonderful man, and I am the mother of two with one due to arrive in November. Being a mom is the best. I love little hugs and kisses from my children and discovering new things with my kids. I graduated from Washington State University with my bachelor's degree in nursing and started working with mentally ill clients. I love seeing their behaviors and emotions improve as we are able to love them. We also try to help them see how wonderful they are and that they deserve to live a happy life just like everyone does. Knowing you are a child of God is so important to who you are and becoming the best person you can be.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the church and was surrounded by a loving family and friends. Life was great and you don't really realize the blessings you receive until you start to question things. This questioning period for me occurred after I suffered a head injury in my teenage years and kind of had to start over learning how to live again. I was fixated on my injury being part of me and who I was for a few years and then I finally decided it was only holding me back. I had so many blessings I did as not even realize. Loving parents and family, loving church leaders and a loving Heavenly Father and Savior Jesus Christ were always there for me, but I had trouble realizing this. Once it really sinks in then the choices you make become so much easier and you realize all of the blessings Our Heavenly Father wants to give us and loves giving us. I know my Savior Jesus Christ lives. I know Our Heavenly Father cares deeply for us and wants us to return home to him. I know Joseph Smith suffered many afflictions to bring forth the true Gospel of Jesus Christ in the latter days. I am so grateful for this and the many pioneers and others who sacrifice so much for the Lord and his work. He just wants us all to return home to Him again.

How I live my faith

I teach Sunday school or primary to 9 and 10 year old children. They are great and it is amazing how much they know about Our Savior Jesus Christ. It is wonderful to watch them grow and see their testimonies of Christ and what strong spirits they are. It is a true blessing to be able to teach them. Visiting Teaching is an excellent means of connecting with different sisters in our area and it is another opportunity to provide service and love to one another. Whether that means visiting someone and checking in with a kind word or deed or providing a meal, or assistance with anything they may need help with, it is an opportunity to share the Love of Christ with others and care for one another.

What is a “testimony” that Mormons speak of?

Sarah
It is what you feel and know in your heart to be true. The Holy Ghost (what some might refer to as maybe your conscience) will let you know if something is true or not. This is through a warm feeling that something is right. A testimony is our knowledge of a living Heavenly Father and His Son Jesus Christ usually and a knowledge that Joseph Smith restored the true church (Jesus Christ's church) to the earth.
