Hi I'm Alan

I am a US Coast Guard veteran who had a career in law enforcement. I am currently a private investigator and polygraph examiner.

About Me

I am a sailor at heart, but after serving in the United States Coast Guard, spent a career as a law enforcement officer in our County's Sheriff's Office. I have been in love with the water for as long as I can remember and have traveled the western hemisphere. I've literally been from one end of the earth to the other. I have the distinction of being a seven seas sailor, but that was in my younger years. Now, I'm a husband, dad and grandpa. I have a wonderful wife, four children and two grandsons. I now spend my life traveling across the state of Washington helping city, county, and school administrators with personnel problems.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in a Christian Church and have always had a basic understanding that God was the father of Jesus and Jesus is our brother. In 1998 I was introduced to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and quickly realized I grew up learning only part of what the Gospel really meant to us. I was baptized and became a member when I was in my mid-thirties and have never looked back. This is a wonderful way of life and I thank Heavenly Father every day for bringing the Church into my life. I know that our Heavenly Father lives and loves each one of us. He desperately wants us to come home to him when our life on this earth is done. He loves us so much that he allowed his son, our brother, Jesus Christ to give the ultimate sacrifice to be our Savior and redeemer so that we can all have the opportunity to be exalted and have eternal life. I know that Jesus Christ is at the head of this Church and speaks to us through our living Prophet, Thomas S. Monson. I also know that Joseph Smith saw our Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ, and was the Prophet who, through revelation, translated the Book of Mormon. And I know that if we read and study the Book of Mormon and the Bible, as well as listen to and obey our modern day prophets and other Church leaders, we will be strengthened in these trying times and prepared to return home to Heavenly Father when the time comes.

How I live my faith

I have had the wonderful opportunity to be a teacher and a leader in my different Church assignments. I love the members of my local congrigation and I am most grateful for being able to visit and get to know the other members throughout our Stake (Regional area). I know I am the one who is blessed because of this. In addition to my Church assignments, I am on our local School Board and a member of our City's Civil Service Commission. Having a life centered around our Savior, Jesus Christ helps me have the judgment needed to provide a positive and moral influcene in the major decissions regarding our local school system and to a smaller degree, our City government. Most importantly, I love my family and those I associate with and do what I can, every day, to let them know how much I care for them. I have not always been a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and know the difference between a lifestyle outside the Church verses the within. As a very good friend of mine told me once, it's a GREAT way of life. I agree with this statement.
