Hi I'm Lauren

I am a fangirl, a writer, a reader, a lover, and I am a Mormon.

About Me

Hi, I'm Lauren. I just recently finished my Freshman year of college at Brigham Young University in Provo. If someone had told me that I would be going to BYU at the beginning of my freshman year, I would have laughed at them. BYU was never on my radar, but I am so happy that I made the choice to go. It was the perfect fit for me. If you had told me then that I would be going on a mission, I would have laughed too. It took me months and a lot of prayer to come to decision that a mission was right for me, but I know that it will make me a better person. I will soon be off to serve in the Brazil Piracicaba Mission for 18 months speaking Portuguese. That will sadly mean that I will be missing Star Wars VII, Doctor Strange, and Avengers: Civil War, but I will most likely not miss the forth season of Sherlock. Luckily, my crazy gang of friends will write a list of everything I will miss in my 18 months, which will make me even more of the Captain America I am. My friends are my family, as much as my blood family. They are both dysfunctional and crazy, but I love them none the less. I am a fangirl, a soon-to-be missionary, a writer, and a reader, and I am a Mormon.

Why I am a Mormon

Why am I a Mormon? I am a Mormon because I believe that this is the true gospel. I believe that Joseph Smith was a true prophet, and a mayrter for the church like Jesses Christ. I believe that the Book of Mormon is the word of our Hevenly Father. I belive in the Word or Wisodom, Bible, Pearl of Great Price, and Docterine and Covadents. I know that there is a living prophet on the Earth today, and his name is Thomas S. Monson. I know that temples are the house of the Lord and are sacred in his eyes. I know that personal revelation is still here today. I belive that Hevenly Father, Jesses Christ, and the Holy Ghost are three seprate beings. I know with all my heart that there is a heaven and that I will see my loved ones agian. Most importantly though, I know, with all my heart and soal, that the Church of Jesses Christ of Latter-Day Saints is Heavenly Fathers true church on the earth today. It was not created by a man, but brought back by him. I believe in this church and I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I live my faith each day by the little things. I read my scriptures daily and pray to my Heavenly Father each morning and night. There are days that I forget, but I try to be the best I can be. I pay a full tithe and fast offering, it's not always easy, being a poor college student, but I know it will be worth it. Attending Brigham Young University has also helped to strengthen my faith. At BYU, students are required to take religion classes, and as a Freshman you start off with the Book of Mormon. I learned so much about the Book of Mormon that I had never known before and it increased my testimony of it. Even the more secular classes increased my faith, because at BYU professors and students are not afraid to integrate the secular with the religious. It has helped to open my eyes to how religion connects with my life in every way. Being able to go on a mission in a couple of months is also something that adds to my faith. I know that in the 18 months that I will serve that my faith will grow exponentially, even as I am tested and tried more than I ever have been before. All in all, I live my faith in the little things and by trying to be the best I can be every day.
