Hi I'm Sandra,

I'm a Mormon. I am 75 years old and have recently completed a wonderful mission in the European Office in Frankfurt, Germany.

About Me

I am remarkably unremarkable. Four wonderful children call me Mother and three great step-children call me Sandy. A whole passel of superior grandchildren and great-grandchildren have come along. They, too, are a delight as I watch their progress in life in person and through Facebook and blogs. Recently I returned from serving a European Mission. I had worried about missing my family and the milestone events that would occur while I was gone. I thought leaving would be my personal sacrifice to the Lord. I had it all wrong. My Mission was wonderful, and my family was blessed in so many ways while I was serving. The Lord surely blesses those who love and serve Him.

Why I am a Mormon

I LOVE being a Mormon! Being a convert to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints for fifty-two years has brought peace, comfort, and joy into my life. A personal knowledge of Jesus Christ has helped me love Him and want to follow His example. He has strengthened me in the inevitable trials and hardships of this life. Following a living Prophet has always seemed so natural to me. As a child I wondered why God sent Prophets to guide and direct the people of Bible times but not in modern times. Imagine my delight when I learned from the missionaries that there IS a Prophet AND Apostles to convey the will of the Lord not only to the members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, but to all who will listen!

How I live my faith

Since joining the church I have served in many, many callings. Some have been fun and some challenging, but all have been growing, faith-promoting experiences. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints puts great emphasis on strong, happy families. Education is important. Community service is encouraged. Serving others is a vital part of the Church agenda. Accordingly, throughout my life, I have been involved in PTA and the children's/grandchildren's sports and musical activities. Volunteer work in the newborn nursuries at the hospital, and with children with disabilities has been so satisfying. The teachings of the Church of Jesus Christ are true! At seventy-five years of age I can look back and see that trying to live the commandments of the Lord surely brings the heavenly blessings that have been promised. You can know that too. Just asl Him. I am not remarkable, but HE IS!
