Hi I'm Olive

I'm married to a wonderful man, a mother to 5 daughters and 5 great sons-in-law, with 19 grandchildren. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born in the heart of Mormon country, and I had Mormon ancestors who crossed the plains to come to Utah. I had three brothers, and a large extended family. My parents were farmers, and when I married, my husband and I farmed with my family. We were the largest potato farmers in the state of Michigan, and entertained then-Governor Romney on our farm on several occasions. With five daughters, we decided to move to the city, to broaden their experiences. We purchased an Exxon franchise which we ran for many years. I love to sew, to quilt, to read, and loved to water and snow ski. I have been an active member of the Church my whole life and have served in many capacities.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into an active Mormon family and extended family. I was raised going to church and church related activities. This has always been an important part of my life. Our family is very close, and we enjoy being together. This is in large part because of our religion and our same basic principles and beliefs.

How I live my faith

My faith and belief in the Gospel of Jesus Christ is an important anchor in my life. An integral part of my faith is rendered through service to others. I have had the opportunity to visit Israel and walk where the Savior walked. Our Savior's life and his atoning sacrafice took on significant meaning through this experience. I have had the opportunity to serve in many capacities in the church, and by so doing, I know that this is what our Savior would have me do.
