Hi I'm Erika

I'm a New Zealand 'Kiwi'. I work as a Physical Therapist, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have loved growing up in the North Island of New Zealand, in Auckland, Rotorua and Hawkes Bay. I have grown up with a great love and appreciation for the diversity of other cultures and the worlds people, as we have lived as a family in the Cook Islands, Bangladesh and Fiji before i was in high school. I love my family and friends and enjoy spending great moments with them. I like adventures! Having fun and being a little goofy! I love the great outdoors, sports, astronomy, painting, music, good books, and find great happiness in God's creations. I have studied and now work as a Physical Therapist and I enjoy meeting and working with people.

Why I am a Mormon

I became a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints when I was 18 years old. As a family we have always believed in God and in Jesus Christ. I remember as I grew up we went to different Christian churches, we said prayers, we learned also from grandparents who were strong and faithful Christians. I remember learning as a child that Joy comes in knowing Jesus Christ and I strongly believed that He will come again. At the same time my brother was learning about the church through his friend in a different city, we were blessed to have missionaries visit my family where we were also and teach us about the Restoration of the Gospel. I initially didn't know why I was tearful and feeling so happy as the missionaries opened with a hymn "Families can be together Forever" and taught us the gospel, I know now that it was the Spirit of God beginning to enter my life in a greater fullness and I knew what they taught me was true. I was baptized and confirmed a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and will be forever grateful to have been able to do so.

How I live my faith

I am blessed to be able to serve my Heavenly Father and His Son Jesus Christ. I strive to try and fulfill his admonition "If ye love me, keep my commandments" (John 14:15). I can do this by trying to draw closer to Him in daily prayer, scripture study, attending all my church meetings and in accepting and fulfilling callings extended to me. We can serve in our communities in times of need, often by way of 'Mormon Helping Hands' and can use initiative in serving those around us as guided by the Holy Spirit. God who loves and knows all His Children can bless us with His spirit to know the needs of others. I know the organization of the Lord's Church has been restored to the Earth and in it we can serve God and love and serve our neighbor (Matthew 22:37-39).
