Hi I'm Larry

I'm a Mormon, and I was born in the covenant.

About Me

I just turned 71, and the older I get, the more important my beliefs become. I served in the US Navy between 1958 and 1961. My Navy career ended when I became a paraplegic as a result of an auto accident. That has now been over 50 years ago. It took me awhile to adjust to the sudden change in my lifestyle, but when I did, I decided that my life was going to go on. I have now been married for over 30 years. The real anniversary we celebrate though, is the date of our Temple marriage. And we will celebrate 30 years of being married for time and for all eternity in 2012. Over my younger life as a paraplegic, I participated in trap and skeet shooting, bowling, fishing and generally loving the outdoors. I owned a Ranger Bass Boat and loved to go fishing on lake Havasu, Arizona. My good fishing buddy, who owned a home in Lake Havasu City, passed away a few years ago, so my desire to go fishing came to an end. My wife and I have gone to lake Powell and to lake Mead, but now it is to pull the Grandchildren on water skis and wake boards, which is a great delight.

Why I am a Mormon

I love my church and all It stands for. I have a strong testimony in my Lord and savior Jesus Christ. I also have a strong testimony in the Holy Ghost, and a strong testimony in God the Father, our Heavenly Father. And I know that they are three seperate beings. I have a strong testimony in the Prophet Joseph Smith. I have a strong testimony that he translated the Book of Morman from Gold plates and he was directed to, by the Angel Moroni. This all happened after he knelt in prayer in The Sacred Grove, which is located in Palmyra, New York. This is where my Church was founded. " The Church Of Jesus Christ Of Latter Day Saints". People call us " Mormans", and that is OK with me. I wear it proudly, and proud in the best form of the word. I know that God loves us enough to give us a living "Prophet". Also, the "Twelve Apostles". My Church has these. The Quorum of the First Presidency and the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles. Fifteen Prophets Seers and Revelators. At the present time, our living Prophet is President Thomas S. Monson, and his first Counselor is Henry B. Eyring, and his Second Counselor is Dieter F. Uchtdorf. They form the Quorum of " The First Presidency". The Quorum of the Twelve Apostles, consist of, Boyd K. Packer, L. Tom Perry, Russell M. Nelson, Dallin H. Oaks, M. Russell Ballard, Richard G. Scott, Robert D. Hales, Jeffrey R. Holland, David A. Bednar, Quentin L. Cook, D. Todd Christofferson and Neil L. Andersen.

How I live my faith

I and a companion are hometeachers to three families in my ward. I have a calling as the building scheduler, which entails, making sure the different rooms in the Chapel are reserved by just one organization at a time, and that it doesn't overlap. I am a full tithe payer and I try to attend the Temple at least once a week. Again, I want to state my Love for my Heavenly Father, for his Son Jesus Christ (My Savior and Redeemer) and for The Holy Ghost, the Great Comforter.
