Hi I'm Laurie Wyles

I'm a Mormon. Joined in 1990 on my birthday. Grew up in East York, a borough of Toronto.

About Me

I was a widow before I joined the Church. Had a 16 year old son who had a friend who was a Mormon. It was his family that got me involved in the Church. I am now in a career college working on becoming a medical office administrator. I was injured on the job two years ago and could not continue in the field of nursing that I was doing. So, I have returned to school and am loving it.

Why I am a Mormon

My testimony is so strong and I know from personal experience that He does live. Since December 2009 He has prodded me back to Church. He has given me so many blessings that it was time for me to become active again. When I returned to my Ward, it was a Fasting- Testimony meeting. I was allowed to share my testimony because I have ALWAYS had one. The welcome back was vey emotional for me. Both of my in-laws passed away 5 months apart this year. The Relief Society Ladies put the luncheons on for both of them. My husband and I are the only two of the family that are still members now. My late mother-in-law was very active in the Ward and loved going to the Temple. Now it is up to me to continue in her foot steps.

How I live my faith

I am just starting to re-connect with my LDS family, so I am just enjoying going to my meetings.

How do I become a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (Mormon Church)?

Laurie Wyles
Wanting to become a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is the first step. You first find a Church in the area you live in and attend the Sunday Services. There you will encounter Missionaries who are more than willing to teach you the basic principles of the gospel. As you study the scriptures, if you have any questions on the things that you have read, you can ask the Missionaries to explain it. The Missionaries will meet with you in your home and guide you through the scriptures. They are the greatest resource you can use when studing the scriptures. You will probably have all kinds of questions at first. I did. Do not be shy in asking, that is the way you will learn. Bless you as you study the scriptures. Show more Show less
