Hi I'm Jake

My life is average, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Well I'm just average, I am studying science in college, I love Ping Pong and pretty much any sport. I played soccer and tennis in High School, but was never very good. I grew up near Portland Oregon, in a big city, but went to high school in a small town in Idaho. I love just about any type of science but especially Physics. When I tell people that I study physics they are always super surprised. But to me I think subjects like English or Business are way harder. I love my family, I am the oldest kid in my family as well as the oldest grandkid on both sides. I enjoy spending time with my family, especially my younger siblings. I aspire to be someone important, rich and famous, but so does everyone else. So mostly I just look forward to having a job I enjoy and time off to spend with my family.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a mormon for a lot of reasons. A lot of these reasons have changed over time as well. When I was younger I was mormon because my family was mormon and I just thought it was something that everyone did. When I grew up a bit, I was mormon because that was who I grew up being, and I could see that by being mormon I steered clear of trouble and hanging with the wrong crowd. When I got to high school, one of the bigger reasons I was mormon was because a lot of my friends were mormon. I had a lot of good examples that made me want to be mormon. By the time I got to college, I was mormon because it was part of me, I knew it was true, and that my life had been blessed because of it. Now I am mormon because I want to be. Because I know that it is the right thing for me. I know that it has blessed every part of my life and made me who I am today. I will forever be grateful for the people along the way who helped me want to be the best me, by sharing with me the true gospen of Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

I have had the opportunity to live my faith in many ways. Right now I am blessed with the opportunity to serve full time as a missionary. It is a unique opportunity that not many get, but that anyone can do if they want. Life as a missionary isn't easy, but is rewarding. We do service for everyone, and teach and share the gospel of Jesus Christ as often as we can. I don't get paid, but spending all day every day helping others and the feeling that you get after helping someone who needs it is more than enough.

How can I know Mormonism is true?

Honestly the best way I know of to know if this church is true, is to read the Book of Mormon, with the intent of finding an answer. Then when you are ready, and after you have read, pray, and ask God if it is true. Because when God promises something if we do our part, God will do his. Show more Show less
