Hi I'm Adrianne

I love living an active lifestyle, studying science, and meeting lots of different kinds of people. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I currently work full-time as an assistant to an optometrist. I attended a university previously where I studied nutrition, and found out just how much I love biology. I have a fascination in the way the body works and I'm all about how to keep my body healthy and strong. I've also seen how taking care of my body helps keep my spirit happy. I love running, hiking, rock climbing, and basically anything that takes me outdoors. I also really love music and play the violin, piano, and the ukulele. I can see how playing and listening to good music makes a positive difference in my life.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in a family who is active in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Throughout my life, I have had experiences the helped me to grow in conviction of the truth that I feel in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. The last few years I have brought even more clarity that this is the church of Jesus Christ. Daily I can see how the Lord's hand is in my life and I know that He is my source of strength. I love that Heavenly Father gives us commandments to help us make good choices for our life. There have been many times when I have felt guided in my life. Whether it is help with my school work, a friend, a feeling, or even just a hug, the Lord has been there to provide that for me. Because of the gospel, I love life. I know that Jesus Christ is our Savior and Redeemer and that he truly did die so that we can return to our Heavenly Father. I know that our Heavenly Father knows all of us, that He loves us dearly, and that He has a plan for all of us. I know these things are true and I know He is there for us all the time if we turn to Him. I know He wants us all to be happy!

How I live my faith

I feel like it's important to live our faith and stand for what we believe throughout the week and not just one day a week. Right now I am in a young single adult ward in my community and have a specific responsibility to help other understand the gospel, whether they know a lot or little about it. Besides attending regular church meetings on Sunday, I stay active in the gospel by cultivating relationships with those who live around me. I know that they too (like all of us) struggle at times to see past the end of this week, and I try to help them know that God and Jesus Christ are there to help us all along the way and we don't need to do it alone. I try to visit my friends and family often. I love to make new friends and create experiences together. There is so much to learn from others. I try to help them feel included and important, and help them to feel God's love. I also attend a religion class once a week. This has really helped me in my life to not get so overwhelmed by everyday things, but really stay focused on my eternal destiny and who I want to become.

What is the Law of Chastity?

The Law of Chastity is a commandment to protect our bodies, our families, and our relationships with others, including God. The law of chastity prohibits sexual relations outside of marriage. It also means that we are completely faithful in every way to the one person we marry. The law of chastity also keeps us physically and spiritually pure as we avoid pornography and homosexual or lesbian relations. The law of chastity brings happiness to individuals, and safety to families. Show more Show less

What is a “testimony” that Mormons speak of?

A testimony is when someone receives a spiritual truth from the Holy Ghost. Frequently we are given the opportunity to share the truths that we have received. This is called sharing our testimony. The most important aspect of one's testimony is the divinity of Jesus Christ and His Atonement, that Joseph Smith is a prophet and was called of God to restore the Church of Jesus Christ, that there is also a living prophet today, and that God lives.
