Hi I'm James

I'm a hockey player, I try to be a golfer, I'm an accountant and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love life. Currently I am studying accounting. I am very excited that this December I will be graduating. I am married to a wonderful woman I somehow convinced to marry me. We will expecting a daughter on Christmas day and we are very excited for her arrival. I grew up playing ice hockey and I still get out and play when I can. I have had the opportunity to coach and coordinate a league of hockey teams and I have really enjoyed getting to bring chance to play one of the best sports to others. I love trying new things. This summer I learned how to play golf and I look forward to the day when double bogeys are a thing of the past! Soon we will be moving to Texas to pursue a great opportunity to jump-start my career and I look forward to the journey.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in an area where Mormon's are the majority. At that time I did not take my religion very seriously but I always had a firm faith and belief in God. It wasn't until our family moved away that I saw how special our religion is. As I walked down the halls of my new high school I could pick out who the Mormons where. I was actually able to see that there was something different in their faces. As I got to know a few of them I started going to church again. My new group of friends encouraged me to try harder and really look at what was important. As I began to seriously read the Book of Mormon I could feel the love of God and I knew that it was true. To closer to God I have tried to come the happier I have become. I know that the scriptures and the words of living prophets are gifts from God and serve to bring us closer to Christ and find peace.

How I live my faith

Because I know that the God loves his children, I decided to serve a mission to help others come to Christ. I was able to spend two years striving to bring that message to the people of Russia. I cherish the memories of being able to serve and teach among people of such a rich culture. Since then I have tried to live a life of meaning and value. There are so many activities, causes, and opportunities in today's world and one must be very selecting in deciding who they want to become. Outside of the time I spend in school, work, and family, I do the very best I can in serving the Lord and his people. I currently have the opportunity to serve and aid in the spiritual growth of the all the men in a congregation of people my own age. There are many such callings and opportunities and I love doing it. I have found true peace and happiness as I have sacrificed my time to come to the aid of others. Every person on this Earth is at a different stage in their spiritual growth and my hope is that we can all help each other along that path, no matter our circumstances or background. I know that God loves his children and that true happiness can come to us and those around us as we strive to be disciples of Jesus Christ.
