Hi I'm Brandon

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm currently 30 years old, I've been married for six awesome years and have a three year old son and a 1 year old daughter. My wife and I met at college where we were both students of engineering. I graduated with a Masters degree in Structural Engineering and my wife as a Mechanical Engineer. I grew up in a family with 12 kids and loved every second of it. Things were never boring and being one of four boys in a row there was always something going on. I grew up playing every sport imaginable but found my passion in high school as a water polo player which I continued into my college years. Still today my wife and I enjoy staying active by playing basketball, tennis, volleyball, or whatever we can and the rest of the time we stay active by running, dancing, and laughing with our little boy. We can't wait to grow our family, maybe not 12 kids, but with how much fun we are having with the first one we can't wait to have a few more.

Why I am a Mormon

I really love being a mormon. It has been such a blessing through every step of my life. I consider myself extremely blessed to be born to parents who know and love the Lord and have taught me to rely on Him in all I do. I was taught many years ago that "when we want to talk to God, we pray, but when we want God to talk to us we must read the scriptures." I know the scriptures are the word of God and through them we can get to know Him better and understand His eternal plan of happiness. I love both the Bible and the Book of Mormon and together they have helped me learn more about Christ and how to live a Christ-like life than either could alone. I truly love both of these books of scripture and love to read the accounts of the ancient prophets and faithful followers of Christ. I know that anyone who truly studies these books of scripture and strives to live by their teachings will find true strength and happiness. I'm a Mormon because I know the Book of Mormon is the word of God. I know the man the Lord chose to recieve these ancient records and translate them for our benefit was a truly a prophet of God and that still today the Lord has a prophet here on the earth to guide, teach, and warn us.

How I live my faith

On of the things I really enjoy doing is working with the youth. Over the past few years I have devoted a lot of my time volunteering as a Boy Scout leader. I really enjoy working with the youth and helping them to increase in their confidence and find out what direction they want to take in their lives and give them the encouragement they so desperately need. In an ever changing world the values of christianity are constantly being challenged and it is becoming increasingly more difficult and unpopular to follow the teaching of Christ. I love to teaching them and seeing them learn for themselves that true happiness can only come through living the teaching of Jesus Christ. Lately my wife and I been teaching a class every weekday throughout the school year from 6:00-7:00am to high school students in our church before going to work. Sure it's a little bit of a sacrifice at time to wake up at 5am every morning and prepare lessons every night, but the blessings are remarkable. I can't even describe how amazing it feels to see the happiness and confidence they gain from learning and applying Christ's teachings in their lives and know that you have influenced this change. They truly are amazing and capable of great things and I hope I can help each one of them realize that and influence them to become who the Lord sees in them.
