Hi I'm Jill

I live in Tacoma, Washington , I'm a mom, and grandma and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My husband and I are about to celebrate our 30th anniversary. We have three children, two boys and a girl, two daughter in laws and three grandchildren. Our daughter is preparing to serve a mission for the church. We love to just get in the car and drive, to discover new places and we love to eat in fun little dinners and family owned restaurants. I love to cook and sew and garden. I have come up with some very creative ways to use zucchini and tomatoes! We have also remodeled our home. Power tools are great!

Why I am a Mormon

My parents joined the church when I was just a few months old. Growing up, I learned about Heavenly Father and the Savior. However, not until much later when I could look back on my life did I come to know that Heavenly Father really does know me personally. He knows what I need and what is best for me. I know he answers my prayers, not always in the way I expect, but in a way that is right for me. The Gospel brings me a sense of peace in an ever changing world. I know that the Gospel will never change. I know the gospel was restored to the earth by Joseph Smith. And I know we have a Prophet on the earth today. We receive revelation from the Lord through the prophet. I also know that the Savior lives. That he loves us and wants to help us through this life. Through the atonement of Jesus Christ, we will be able to live once again with our Heavenly father. I love knowing that I am sealed to my husband and family not just for time, but for all eternity. I can be with my family forever.

How I live my faith

Being "Mormon" is not just a Sunday thing. It is a way of life. Service and caring for others is a big part of my life. I have spent many many hours volunteering and working at the elementary school that my children attended. I also have donated over 7 gallons of blood to the blood bank. Right now I work with the Young Womens program which is for girls age 12 -18. I love the sweet spirits of the YW. We work to help the girls come to see their divine potential. We plan youth conferences and girls camp and other activities that are not only lots of fun, but also help the youth to grow closer to the Savior. I have had many jobs in the church, but my favorite has to be when I taught the 4 year olds on Sunday. Even though it could get crazy with nine four year olds, I loved the innocence and the joy they brought each week. They are so excited to learn about the Savior . I try to live each day with some of that joy and enthusiasm.
