Hi I'm Max

I am currently serving a mission in Sweden, can speak three languages, love traveling, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am currently serving a mission for the Lord in Stockholm, Sweden. It is a blast! I get to meet new people everyday. I speak English, German, and Swedish (ok, I'm still learning Swedish but how many people do you know who can speak Swedish)? I have future plans to attend Brigham Young University to study Physics, and I want to double minor in German and Swedish. I'm sure my interests are going to change, I already want to change my major...I'm a little bit indecisive about what I want to do with my future. I am an only child, which is rare for a Mormon family, but it works. I absolutely LOVE learning, I learn something new everyday! I've traveled to Europe several times, to countries including Germany, Switzerland, France, the Czech Republic, Austria and Sweden! All of them are great! I've also been to Kenya, Peru, and Canada. Traveling to all 7 continents is on my bucket list, and I just have Asia, Australia and Antarctica left! WOO! I love making friends, and am good at making people feel comfortable in uncomfortable situations--weird skill I know. My best friend is serving a mission just like I am in Brazil, and we get back to the USA a week apart from each other! I love life, and even though it gets rough sometimes, there's ALWAYS something better on the other side! Ya just gotta push through!

Why I am a Mormon

Well, I'm a fifth generation Mormon, which is rare, but means nothing. What matters is that I AM Mormon. I didn't truly become converted to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints until I was 18. I chose to become converted to the Church because I learned how vital the Atonement of Jesus Christ is to our lives. I had been feeling really down about life and some mistakes I had made, and I didn't like having those feelings. One night, I prayed earnestly to Heavenly Father for guidance to know what to do. I received an answer. Since then, I have been striving to become a better person, to live the Gospel, keep the commandments, and become more like Christ. My change of heart has helped me in so many ways. I know that the Gospel of Jesus Christ really makes all the difference in my life, and that if you will allow it into yours, you can find peace and happiness.

How I live my faith

I am currently serving a mission for the Lord in Sweden! I absolutely love being able to share the gospel every day, and I love challenging myself with my language skills. Being a missionary is a full time calling, and its super hard work, but the blessings and benefits are plentiful. In the past, I have taught Sunday School, and held several leadership positions. These opportunities help members grow closer together, strengthen our beliefs in the gospel because we get to study from the scriptures each week, and help members become closer to God. First Timothy 4:12 says something along the lines of "Be thou and example of the believers, in word, in conversation, in charity, in faith, in purity." I love trying to do whats right because people notice things that are different about you. Being an example can be really hard to do, but the joy you get when others ask you why you are different, why you are always happy is exhilarating. I love living my faith. Mormonism isn't just a Sunday religion, its an everyday, all the time, 24/7 religion. The Gospel of Jesus Christ helps me be a better person than I was the day before, and that makes all the difference. If you're not improving, your doing something wrong.

What is the Book of Mormon?

The Book of Mormon is another Testament of Jesus Christ. Just like the Old and New Testaments, it contains the fullness of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. It also contains prophecies and histories written by prophets of old in the Americas. All of these prophets knew about Jesus Christ, and recorded that he appeared to the people in the Americas after his Resurrection. Christ taught his Gospel to the people, and established His Church in the Americas. The book testifies of Christ and His love for us, and verifies the truthfulness of the Bible. In the last book in the Book of Mormon, the Book of Moroni, Moroni promises that those who read the book, ponder it, and pray to know whether it is true with a sincere desire, can come to know that it is true through the Holy Ghost.
