Hi I'm Karch

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Im 19 years old and I am in the Alaska Anchorage Mission. I came on my mission after one semester of college, and have one older sister and three younger brothers.

Why I am a Mormon

Well... although growing up in the church in a predominantly LDS town, I didnt really have too much direction in my life, although I went to church and seminary. I thought church was something we just had to do or because my parents wanted me to do that. I thought church was boring for the most part, but it was ok to talk to some people there, and I would do anything to not go to seminary or mutual unless we were going to do an activity. Most of the things I pursued like excercising alot or playing sports was to get people's respect and attention and because that is what I thought what made me happy. As time went on it seemed I was growing more distant from the church, not reading or praying at all. I didnt know happiness came from spiritual things, only from honors. My mom and dad never gave up on me though, although at times, I would have given up on me. My mom was a very inspired individual and invited me to go to EFY, I heard alot about that from some of the people I went to church with. One guy in my ward told me it was alot of fun. I didnt think anything that had to do with church would be fun. However when my mom asked me if I wanted to go, I thought about it for a while. The thought came to me, maybe I will see a pretty girl, so that right there convinced me that if for nothing else I should go because I might see some pretty girls. I know everyone reading this will make fun of it, but hey I know God knows how I use my agency. Well long story short, I know that one persons charity and faith can help another soul come unto Christ. As I pondered I know the prophets words are true, Heavenly Father loves each and every one of us, and he is willing to go very far for each of us to come back. I know the Book of Mormon is true, and Jesus is the Christ, and as we overcome our pride we will be more happy.

How I live my faith

I always try to be obedient in all things. I know God knows best and his plan of happiness comes from living the laws of the gospel. As a missionary right now, I try to talk to as many people as possible, and hope they will end up living the laws of the gospel too. I try to recognize my pride and correct it, and pray to love others and try to make a conscious effort to do so.
