Hi I'm Sherri

I grew up in Utah. I like to be surrounded by the people I love. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a person with great passion for the things that I love. I love reading, exercising, playing sports, piano music, food, movies, learning, and especially my family and friends. I graduated with a BA in Sociology with a double minor in Portuguese and Latin American Studies. I love to learn about people and how they interact with each other. I have been married for almost 4 years which I consider the first best choice I've made in my life. My husband and I have a sweet little one year old that reminds us what life is all about everyday. She is sweet, simple and the joy of my life. My husband and I agree she is the second best decision we've ever made. Through my experiences in life I have learned the importance of simply smiling and enjoying our lives. I spent some time in Brazil and had to be patient and laugh at myself on occasion as I struggled to communicate in a foreign language. I worked with disabled adults as a career for a time which showed me the importance of focusing on the simple things in life. I have lost loved ones to death and have realized how important the quality time is that we share with one another. I love life.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised a mormon by my parents. They are amazing people and the best examples of how to be happy and have a fulfilling life full of meaning and love. Why wouldn't I pattern my choices to get the results of my parents that I had been so lucky to get? That being said, others choices and experiences could NEVER dictate my whole life. I have made mistakes and wrong choices that my parents never would have or maybe weren't ever even faced with. My choice to be a Mormon began with the realization that the peace and joy that I have in my life always comes from the same central location- my membership in and knowledge of the church. Whenever something is out of balance in my life I find that to fix it I can find the solution within the teachings of the church. The vast variety of doctrines address every major conflict I have ever been through. My solace is found within the knowledge of my Heavenly Father and His Son Jesus Christ. It is not just a church or a religion it is my way of life and the purpose of life. Some people have had a miraculous experience that make them decide to be a mormon. My experience is not the same. I have felt however, multiple times throughout my life an overwhelming and unmistakable calming feeling within myself that what I am doing in my life and the choice to be a Mormon is unquestionably right and everlastingly true.

How I live my faith

As I have such strong conviction that what I believe has fortified my life in such a strong way I enjoy sharing it with others to help them as I have been helped. I have been able to work a lot with little children within the church. Every Sunday I enjoy teaching them the love their Heavenly Father has for them, how they can be obedient to their parents and how they can feel good about themselves by making good choices. There is also time weekly where we sing songs and have fun just being together with other children. I also was able to serve a mission for the church down in Brazil. It was a great way to exercise my faith by pushing myself to be disciplined and dedicated in helping people who aren't familiar with the church to feel God's love for them. The best thing I can do is share with others the goodness in my life that comes from the church and living the gospel.
