Hi I'm Joy

I grew up all over the country, I am a stay at home mom with a bachelor's degree, I LOVE Ultimate Frisbee and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My name is Joy. I grew up in 6 different states and 11 different homes within those states. I went to college and after a lot of work received an Associates and a Bachelors degree. I worked at Disney World for a semester and was "friends" with Snow White. I now have my dream job of being the proud mother of two adorable little girls and being married to my Prince. I love photography, attending the theater, spending time with family, making new friends, singing to my girls, and finding ways to improve.

Why I am a Mormon

My amazing parents raised me in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Like most, I went through times and moments where I had to decide whether I believed in Christ and his teachings because my parents did or because I did. Because I moved often as a youth I had many opportunities to create new friends and show people who I was. It was sometimes hard moving so much and feeling alone but Christ has been the constant that has anchored me to what is most important. I never had to doubt who I was because of my faith. I love having a testimony that my Heavenly Father loves me and that I am His child. I know Christ came to this earth to show us how to live a happy life. He suffered in the garden of Gethsemane and died on the cross for me. I also know that he was resurrected to pave the way for all of us to live again. All of this was done out of love. LOVE is the reason I follow Him. Through the Holy Ghost I've have received many witnessed of His love and through my obedience to His commandments He can feel my love in return. I had the opportunity to go on a Youth trek right before I went to college. On that trip I had some very special experiences that confirmed to me that Joseph Smith was called of God to be a prophet. God spoke to him and continues to speak to anyone willing to listen. I am not perfect and I make mistakes daily but I try so hard to follow the Gospel's teachings because I know they will make me happy. Not just happy now, but forever. In a world of seemingly insurmountable struggles, the eternal truths of the gospel can help me overcome anything.

How I live my faith

I live my faith through teaching my family on a daily basis about Jesus Christ. In my congregation I serve in our young nursery. I have also had the great opportunity to serve in the presidency of the primary program. Teaching these very special children about God, where they came from, and what they can do to have eternal happiness brings me so much joy. I try to live my faith by being kind to those around me. I try to love others as I know Christ loves me.
