Hi I'm Ryan

I grew up in New Mexico, served a mission in Italy, am an Orthodontist, and married in the San Diego Temple. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love the life that God has given me! I was raised in a very loving Mormon family and have been given remarkable professional and religious opportunities to grow and develop. Even further, I have been blessed to have been given such a choice wife after so many years of remaining single. Because I was only recently married, I have no children yet. However, I hope to be able to have a family with sons and daughters soon! I just love to be outside and am fascinated with all aspects of nature. I love Arizona where I currently reside because for many months of the year the weather is gorgeous and permits me to enjoy God's wonderful creations. The crisp air we breathe in the winter months, the gorgeous sunsets, and the reverent desert all have been such a blessing to my life. The more I learn and experience of nature, gardening, and landscaping, the more I realize how sacred and wonderful this Earth is to which we belong. When I have some free time, I think it is hard to to beat the experience of mountain bike riding, hiking, or camping. I feel uplifted after exploring God's glorious creations. Because of my mission in Southern Italy, I have developed an interest in preparing and cooking delicious food. I find so much satisfaction in the creation of a 'spaghetti alla bolognese' or other delicious dishes to enjoy. Furthermore, I love learning about all sciences and history and I am often reading or entranced in an interesting documentary series on Netflix.

Why I am a Mormon

I actually was born into the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (Mormon or LDS). However, while serving my mission in Southern Italy, away from the comforts of home and the leadership of my parents, and after a very particularly frustrating day among the people of Italy, I just knew I had to gain my own personal testimony of this church. How could I put up with two years of this frustration and discouragement if what I was preaching to others was false? How could I really look someone in the eye and testify to them I knew the Book of Mormon was of a true book or that Joseph Smith was indeed a real prophet of God based upon my parents' belief only? Put simply, I decided to follow the promise given to each reader at the end of the Book of Mormon. I prayed to know for myself if the Book of Mormon was true. I can honestly tell you that I felt my prayers were answered in a very simple and direct way. This is how my testimony started to grow independent from my parents and has continued to grow from that day foreward.

How I live my faith

I strive to live my faith by showing kindness and love to those around me. In contemplating the glorious life of our Savior, Jesus Christ, I find evidence of His simple love and concern for others. In my opinion, the best measure of your conversion to Jesus Christ is how you treat others. To me, it is that simple. Moreover, the scriptures speak of Jesus Christ's balance in His day-to day approach to living that I find admirable. They speak of His development intellectually, physically, socially, and spiritually. I try to model my life with this approach taught indirectly by the Savior. I strive to learn of things above and below the earth, follow the revealed counsel on diet and exercise, enjoy others' company, and demonstrate my love for Father in Heaven by obedience to His commandments even when it is difficult.
