Hi I'm Kelland Hansen

I'm a nature fanatic, I'm an optimist, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am 18 years old, and I live in Littleton, Colorado. i was raised in the suburbs, but I'm at home when in the heart of the Rocky Mountain wilderness. Growing up on a ranch near an alpine lake, I learned the meaning of hard work in my childhood, as well as an appreciation for the beauty of the outdoors. The smell of fresh mountain air is one of the few things that brings me instant peace. I am a person who looks for the best in others, I try to think before i act. I'm a fierce optimist, i believe good can come from any situation! My family is everything to me, i have been raised in an environment that has molded me into the person that I am, all thanks to loving parents and the craziest brother and sisters. My friends have also had a great influence in my life, we never have a boring night! i am also an amateur poet, discovering the power to evoke emotions and experiences though writing has recently got me hooked! I cant wait to pursue this new interest. I love playing basketball, ping pong, hanging with friends and trying new things!

Why I am a Mormon

Where to begin? I'm a mormon because of the light it gives my life. Being privileged enough to grow up in the church, i was able to obtain my own testimony through inspired leaders and my own desire for truth. The church and the gospel have given me the knowledge of who I am, where I've been, why I'm here, and what the future holds after death. The ability to live my life without confusion is a great comfort to me. Being a mormon has also provided me the tools to success and happiness, and gives my life a drive of purpose. The gospel teaches all the Christ-like attributes that we should strive to acquire, it is a continuous pursuit for us in this life and will ultimately lead to everlasting joy! I believe in the book of mormon, another testament of Jesus Christ. the book speaks unedited truth, anyone who has not read this book i plead with you to do so! It has brought me peace, comfort, guidance, and knowledge that is impossible to find in any other text, and i can promise the same results to everyone! I also believe in modern day revelation. Not only do we as mormons follow an inspired prophet of God, we can all receive personal revelation if we are humble and willing to listen! This reminds me that our Heavenly Father knows us personally and loves all of us, he is willing to guide us if we are willing to have faith and follow him!

How I live my faith

I live my faith by following the teachings of Christ. He taught us of charity and love, its important to adopt these characteristics and infuse them into who we are! As a latter day saint, i strive be of service to others, and to be a good example to my peers. The world may analyze our way of life and come to believe that our lifestyle is strict, or that we as latter day saints are holding ourselves back from worldly pleasures. By maintaining our values, however, we are eliminating the possibility of falling into the traps of sin, and fortunately our values are the very keys to saving oneself from the snares of temptation. As an imperfect race, men are bound to make mistakes, and by living the principles that I've been taught i have been able to conquer things in my life i never thought possible! I am currently going through the steps of becoming a full-time missionary for my church. I am extremely excited and grateful for this opportunity to serve wherever I am sent, I know that by serving my fellow men I will be serving my heavenly father!
