Hi I'm Marcie

I grew up in Meridian, ID. I studied musical theater in New York City. Now I am a full-time mom to 3 beautiful kids. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My main focus in life is being a wife and mother to 3 energetic kiddos. In my free time, I enjoy running and completed my first full marathon in June of 2010. I love to sing and perform, but most of my perfoming nowadays is for my kids. They think I am the funniest person alive when I bust out my tap shoes and do a little show-tune for them in our kitchen. That's what life is all about right? I love entertaining friends and trying out new recipes on them. Someday I would love to have my own party/wedding/catering company. I also really love to read and can get lost in a book (which can be a problem when you have 3 little kids to look after!). I really enjoy politics and love being involved in local campaigns. I come from a large family of 8 kids and I love traveling to see them. I was fortunate to have loving parents who put their kids first in their lives, and themselves second. I hope to be the kind of parent my parents were to me: selfless, full of love, and 100% dedicated.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in a very active Mormon family. As the yougest of 8 kids, I had a lot of great examples to look up to. My parents were always very devout and always made a point to share their testimony with me and with others. I learned from their example at a young age, that the church is true. Once I graduated from High school, I knew that I would not have to them to rely on anymore for their testimony. I needed to gain my own testimony. I always knew the church was true, but never really took the time to find out for myself why I knew it was true. When I headed off to college, I decided that this was a new chapter in my life, and I could wipe my slate clean and start all over again. I made the decision to actively attend church. I made new friends who were strong in the gospel and helped me to realize that I did have a strong testimony and knew the church was true. I know that Joseph Smith was a true prophet of God, and was given the keys to restore the true church on the earth again. I know that President Monson is a true prophet and feel blessed to be living in this time where we can benefit from a prophet on earth. I know that we can have eternal familes and return to live with Heavenly Father and His son, Jesus Christ again. I look forward to the day when I can kneel at His feet, and thank him for His sacrifice He made for me. I know that Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ are personally aware of me and want to see me succeed. I feel of their love daily.

How I live my faith

Having grown up in the church, there have been many opportunities for me to serve in the church and in our community. I have had many different callings or jobs in the church. Everything from teaching 4 year olds in Sunday school, organizing and planning activities and parties for the women in the church, to directing choirs. One of my favorite ways to serve in the church is through music. I love to perform and share the talent God has given me through my voice. My biggest calling these days is as a mother. I feel it is my duty to teach these children about the gospel and how to make the right choices. This has definitely been my toughest calling yet, but also the most rewarding. I thank Heavenly Father every day for sending me these sweet spirits to raise and teach. Most days they are teaching me!
