Austin: Mormon.

Hi I'm Austin

About Me

I was born in Salt Lake City, Utah and now live in Layton, Utah but I am currently serving a mission in North Carolina and loving every minute of it. When i was 4 i was diagnosed with Pneumonia and had to stay in the hospital for 3 days. I love the snow and so I am a snowboarder. I love being in the outdoors especially the mountains. I am interested in the medical field and want to be a pediatric doctor of some sort. I am the oldest of 6 boys. I was raised in the church and at the age of 18 i found out for myself that the church is true. I love this gospel and i love what it has to offer, especially that families can be together forever. I have been blessed with a wonderful family that i want to be with forever. I love to make people laugh and to have a good time. Mostly i just love to be happy.

Why I am a Mormon

When I was 18 years old I had to choose whether I was going to serve a mission or not. At this point in my life I did not have a testimony for myself, so my decision was not to serve a mission. One sunday morning when I was sitting in Sunday school, I had a very personal, spiritual experience that left a lasting impression that I needed to serve a mission. After this experience I never had one thought of not serving a mission. I knew that this was what I needed to do. After that experience I gained a testimony that the church is true. Now that I have been out here on a mission I have strengthened my testiomy even more and I know without any doubt that the church is true. This gospel provides the strength that I need when I go through the trials in my life.

Personal Stories

How has the Book of Mormon brought you closer to God?

In the Book of Mormon it tells us that one purpose in life is to experience happiness and joy. God wants us to be happy and through the Book of Mormon I have been able to experience that joy that it talks about. As I have read and pondered its words I have felt closer to God then I have ever been in my life. The Book of Mormon teaches us what we need to know and how to live so we can return to live with God. I know that the Book of Mormon is true and that it changes the hearts of all those that really read and pray, with real intent, and bring them closer to Christ.

How I live my faith

At this point in my life, I am living it everyday as I serve a full-time mission. It's helping me develop the attributes that i need to become more like my savior. I want to serve others and help the needy. Prayer has been the greatest blessing in my life. I know that my Heavenly Father is there and willing to help me. I can feel his arms wrapped around me when I need comfort. I know that God loves all of His children.
