Hi I'm Michael

I love boating, driving my truck, rollercoasters, Florida: the greatest place EVER! I love my friends/family AND I'm a Mormon!

About Me

I was born in Orlando, Florida: the greatest place EVER! I have 2 older brothers, 1 older sister, a mom, and a dad. I grew up in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and have loved it! I played the trumpet throughout middle and high school. During high school I participated in marching band and jazz band, which turned out to be my creative outlet. I'm also an Eagle Scout. Some of my other interests which I LOVE are, spending the day boating on the lake or hanging out at the beach, rollercoasters, driving my truck, camping, scuba diving, spending time with close friends, almost any high adventure activity, and much more! Our time on this Earth is too short to sit still, so I prefer to be out making the best of life and having exciting experiences! Sharing those experiences with friends and family is the only way to do it! Currently I'm serving as a missionary for the LDS church in the Indiana, Indianapolis Mission(the greatest mission around!) Once I finish my mission, I plan to attend college, find an amazing wife, get married in the temple, and live a "happily ever after" super exciting, adventure-filled life! Those are my goals and I know Heavenly Father will guide and help me to attain them because he loves me!

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. So for me, this is all I've ever known. However, most of my life I was dragged to go to church every sunday because it was what I had to do. I was a typical kid who didn't want to go to church and participate in anything. I never really got into anything bad or made any horrible decisions, I was just lazy. It was like that until the summer after my sophomore year in high school. At that point I started hanging out with a kid that I went to church with. Him and his family were very strong in the church, so they had a positive influence on me and my desires. Beginning in my junior year, I started going to church out of my own desire and decision to go instead of my parents. I also decided to read the Book of Mormon for the first time by myself. It took me about a year to read it and over that time my desire to do good and be a better person increased. I participated in more of the church activities, spent more time with member friends, and decided to go on a 2 year mission for the church when I turned 19. Once I finished reading the Book of Mormon, I prayed about it. My answer didn't come immediately or in any extravagant way either. After praying about it for several days, I kept hearing a voice from within that said, "you already know its true." After that, I knew it was true. Ever since I was a little kid, I never doubted that the LDS church was true, but I never had my own testimony of it and the Book of Mormon until after I prayed sincerely about it. My life has changed dramatically for the better since all of that. My life isn't perfect, there's still bumps in the road along the way, I have challenges and struggles just like anyone else, but the difference is, I have the Gospel of Jesus Christ in my life which gives me direction and "a light at the end of the tunnel" to run towards. I know Heavenly Father loves all of his children and that Jesus Christ is the savior of all mankind.

How I live my faith

One of the biggest ways I live my faith right now is being on a mission for 2 years for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Being on a mission has changed me tremendously for the better. I have come closer to my savior Jesus Christ and realized the power of his atonement both in my life and the lives of those I have encountered. Through reading the scriptures daily and teaching others about the Gospel of Jesus Christ, I have learned how to have hope, faith, and charity. To me those are three of the biggest qualities of a true follower of Jesus Christ. Without them we are nothing. I also live my faith by doing basic, but fundamental things such as, praying multiple times a day, reading the scriptures daily, and attending church each Sunday. These three things are very simple, but the impact of consistently doing them is enormous! Doing those things, is how I gained my personal testimony that "the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is the Lord's kingdom once again established on the earth, preparatory to the second coming of the Messiah." Having that knowledge is what brings lasting peace and happiness into my life, and I couldn't be more grateful for that!

How can we come to know our Father in Heaven?

Michael
God is our Heavenly Father who loves us so much. He is the ultimate supreme being of the universe, but yet he wants to hear from each of us individually. He wants whats best for us and because of that he has given us ways that we can know he is really there. One way we can know of our Heavenly Father is through prayer. In prayer we can speak with God, letting him know of our concerns and struggles. We can even ask him specific questions about anything that is on our mind. If we listen carefully, Heavenly Father WILL answer our prayers in some way. It may be through the actions/words of others or even thoughts that come to our minds. Whatever the way the answer comes, it will definitely come in due time IF we are listening and searching for it. Show more Show less
