Hi I'm Jaz

I'm a sister. I'm a goof. I'm a Martial Arts enthusiast. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am the oldest of 6 six kids, I am a beach bum at heart though I don’t live by any ocean. I am always looking for something new to learn and odd information to store up for a rainy day. I absolutely love music and the influence it can have in an individual, group and generation. I am a sport’s chiropractic assistant, I get paid to cause temporary discomfort to the body by deep tissue massaging. I love being outside and trying my best to “rough” it. Growing up all the kids would try to wrestle my dad and come up with our own versions of kung-fu. Now years later I still try to incorporate those skills in my life through jiu-jitsu and various other martial arts.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised in the church, learning about the Savior, and a Heavenly Father who loved me. I loved learning about the prophets in the scriptures and about why I was here on Earth, what happened before I came here and what would happen to me when I died. I had never taken the time to ask for myself if this was true, to try to stand on my testimony apart from my parents, leaders and friends. Our Father in Heaven knew I nor would anyone else be able to go through life unscathed from sin. So, He made a plan, even before the world was formed, to help give us the greatest chance of returning to Him. This plan would test our faith and devotion to Him, but He gave us a lifeline, Jesus Christ, who would take on the mistakes of this life if we would let him be our Savior. I find it appropriate that this plan is called the plan of happiness and mercy in the scriptures. I came to realize that it was only through living the truths that had been taught to me as a child that I could experience Heavenly Father’s love for me indefinitely. I could feel joy, happiness, peace and a hope for a future not tainted by my mistakes. So one day I knelt down and fervently pleaded with Heavenly Father to know if this was really His plan, if this was really the way to change me into something better. I know the promptings of the Holy Ghost I received that day were and are true. I continue to know because the desire in my heart to feel the healing balm of the Savior’s Atonement and the love of Heavenly Father is satisfied, when I am living the Gospel. I know that this is the church with all the truths taught by Jesus Christ. It is our road map back home to our Father, the Gospel leads us on our journey thru the plan of salvation. I know that an infinite, loving all powerful being who is the Father of Heaven knows and loves me. He knows my weakness and trials, so He sent His son, my brother, Jesus Christ to perform the Atonement and become the Redeemer of the world.

How I live my faith

Every day I read from the Book of Mormon and offer up a prayer of my hopes and of thanks for the blessings I continue to receive. I try each day to live as my Savior has asked and to be an extension of His love to those around me.
