Hi I'm Joe.

I grew up in Las Vegas. I umpired Little League Baseball. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am the second youngest of six kids. I umpired Little League Baseball while in high school, now that I am in college I only umpire during the summers. I work on my college campus and an Intramural Sports Referee. I love sports, specifically college football. I am an Exercise and Sport Science major and biology minor. I enjoy watching movies and TV. I also enjoy going hiking and camping. I like to write. I normally write poetry. I love to eat and hang out with friends. I believe that Christ is the Savior of the world, the Holy One of Israel, and most importantly my elder Brother and my Friend.

Why I am a Mormon

I am Mormon because I have received a witness from the Holy Spirit that the Book of Mormon is true. I have read it time and time again. It continues to bring me closer to my Father in Heaven and His Son, my Savior and Redeemer, Jesus Christ. I know that the Book of Mormon is scripture, the word of God, as well as the bible because I have read both together and asked God to know if what I have read is from Him or from some other source. For I know that He won’t lead me the wrong way, if I ask Him in faith willing to act upon the answers He gives me.

How I live my faith

Life is hard. It is a journey that we all must take, and like any journey we are faced with detours, forks in the road, switch backs, up hills and down hills. Sometimes we may run out of gas, or our air conditioning may go out, but it is through my faith in the Savior that leads me and guides me on my path. I rely on Him; He is the Light of my world. I receive direction from Him when I ask Him in humble prayer. Sometimes answers come as a feeling or impression; sometimes they come from other people, God’s angels in my life. And sometimes it comes from the things I read from the scripture. I love Him and I try to show my love for Him by trying to become a better person each and every day; by searching for those in need, by striving to keep the commandments, and by acknowledge Him in all things.

Do you really believe there is a prophet like Moses alive today?

The scriptures say that God is the same yesterday, today, and forever. God used prophets to spread His word in the past. So if God is the same He will use prophets to spread His word today and tomorrow. I believe that Thomas S. Monson is God's prophet today. I believe that because God has given us a prophet today, like Moses of old, that God is an unchanging God and not a respecter of persons. He loves us now just as much as He loved our ancient ancestors. Show more Show less
