Hi I'm Lauren

I grew up in Canada. I moved to Australia to study my Masters. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a college student currently working on my Masters. I work part-time to help put me through school, like a lot of students. I love running and yoga to stay active but I also really enjoy quiet nights reading a book and listening to records.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because it gives me hope. The gospel has given me peace and comfort in hard times and has helped me to come to understand my purpose on earth. I grew up in the church and never really had my beliefs challenged until I moved abroad. Living on my own surrounded by people of different faiths made me stop and think about what I believed and why I went to church each Sunday. I came to realize that knowing Jesus Christ and trying to follow his example makes me happier than anything else. I know that life is hard and that everyone makes mistake but through the gospel I know that we have the opportunity to repent and be forgiven of our sins. Knowing that God is merciful and that he has made a way for us to return to him gives me greater comfort than anything else. I am grateful to know that God lives and that there is a Prophet today that leads and guides us as well as loves us. Being Mormon has always given me not only a network of people that love me but has also taught me that we are never alone and that God is always mindful of us. I am Mormon because I believe that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is the true Gospel and that it will help me find my way back to God.

How I live my faith

I feel really blessed to be able to attend church with other young adults similar to my age. In this setting I have had the opportunity to share my talents by teaching yoga to some of the other girls. I also currently am working on helping all of the members of my ward obtain Blue Cards so that they will be able to work with children whether in a church or community aspect. In the past I have had the chance to plan weekly activities for other members which really brought me closer to the people around me.
