Hi I'm Amy

I grew up in Fulton, New York. I'm a rural carrier with the United States Postal Service. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am the mother of 3 daughters and a step-son and the grandmother of 6 with a seventh on the way. I enjoy sewing, plastic canvas, cross stitch and other similar crafts. My favorite is genealogy. I love researching my family and helping others research theirs. I like to can my own foods, making jams and jellies, etc. I also enjoy my dogs and kitties.

Why I am a Mormon

One of my earliest memories was in Sunday School wondering why we don't have Prophets on the Earth today if they had them in the Biblical times. It started to make me wonder if the Bible was true. Then when my husband proposed to me by saying he wanted to be married to 'for time and all eternity' I was surprised to say the least. I didn't know what he was talking about until I started learning more about the Church. Then it started making sense! We do still have Prophets on Earth today! The Bible is true! We've had numerous experiences with my deceased family members in the Temple that has been of great comfort to me. I visited my father one last time before he passed. I asked the Missionaries if they would give him a blessing. My father was not a member but he was willing to have the blessing done. The blessing calmed and comforted him and he passed within 24 hours of receiving it. Knowing this helped me deal with his passing, especially because I was hundreds of miles from him at the time. Also knowing that I will see him, my mother and my brother, and knowing that we are sealed together as a family means a great deal to me.

How I live my faith

I teach Family History to the members of our ward. I also help at the Family History Center where members and non-members can come in and research their families. I am available whenever they have questions or if they need help on their computers. I visit teach other sisters in our ward. We visit with them, see how they are doing, if they need anything, if there is anything we can do for them. I also help in the church library, making copies for the teachers, getting supplies for them.
