Hi I'm Rosalyn

The knowledge that we have a Father in Heaven that loves us and that Christ is my Savior are the most important things I know!

About Me

I am so grateful to know God loves me! I'm glad He has given me experiences to learn to love others!! I have been blessed to raise 8 wonderful children with my husband who I hope to be with forever. I think being a parent teaches you how to love better than any experience in this life! That is why Heavenly Father organized us into families -- to learn to love and serve each other. I graduated from college with a degree in Psychology/Sociology and with a teaching certificate. After I got married and children began to come, my husband worked hard (even while he finished college) so that I could stay home to be with our kids and be sure they had the love and teaching they needed. I love being a Mom and now I love being a grandma too! I agree with John the Beloved Apostle when he wrote, "I have no greater joy than to hear that my children walk in truth." (3 John 1:4)

Why I am a Mormon

I have a heritage of faith passed down from wonderful people who believed the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints to be the church of God. Many of my ancestors suffered great hardships with other members of the church who were persecuted for their beliefs and forced to leave their homes. I have always felt good attending meetings and living the teachings of the Church of Jesus Christ as I was taught in my home. Through my life, as I have prayed and tried to listen, I have learned to hear the direction of the Holy Spirit and He has recomfirmed the teachings of my parents and grandparents; the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints truly is the church that Christ organized when He was on the earth. Christ's Church was lost for a time, when His apostles were killed and His Priesthood was gone, but it has been restored through a Prophet who He has called in recent times. The Spirit has witnessed this truth to me and as I continue to try to follow Christ's teachings, as taught in His Church, I feel closer to God and it brings me great joy!

How I live my faith

I ponder God's word and pray often each day to know what I should do, trying to follow God's direction. I worship with good people and renew my commitments to God and Christ each week. I look for opportunities to help others feel of God's love and learn of Him. I have been greatly strengthened by other people who I know have been inspired by God to help me, and am grateful for times where I have had the opportunity to help others. I have had the blessing of serving in the organizations the Church has created for children and young women to help them learn about Jesus and try to follow Him. What an honor it is to feel that I have made a difference in other's lives as I have tried to follow the Spirit to know how to teach and help them.

What do Mormons believe about the nature of God?

God is the eternal Father of our spirits. We were with Him before we were born. He loves us and, like any parent who loves his children, He wants us to have all the happiness He has. So He created a plan for us to come to earth and learn to make good choices, to love others, and to follow principles that would make us happy. Through time, as He helped His children learn solutions to life's problems, He inspired many to record His instruction and has preserved those records as scriptures to guide us while on earth. He knew we would make mistakes, so He sent His son, Jesus Christ as a ransom for our sins so we could overcome weaknesses and be pure enough to return to Him. He sent the Holy Ghost to communicate with us and help us know what is true. He has provided all that we need to be happy in this life and return to His presence when we finish. He will help us know how to receive all that He wants to bless us with if we seek Him by pondering His word, learning of Jesus Christ, and praying to know His will and have strength to do it. He will help us because He loves us, for "...God is love." (I John 4:8) Show more Show less
