Hi I'm Mason

I'm a swimmer and I play the bass guitar. I'm a father, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I've been married since November 2009. I graduated from college in April of 2011. My wife and I had our first child also in that same month! We love watching her grow and learn about the world. I am currently working as an engineer for a gas pipeline company. I love music! I am always looking to find some new fresh artist to listen to. I've played guitar and bass since I was 14. I love to watch sports and cheer for my favorite teams, especially in football. I also love to read when I have the time.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because I know that Jesus Christ is my Savior. I know that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is truly led by Him through His chosen prophets and apostles. I know that by following Him and His commandments I can live with God and my family after this life. I also know that by following, I gain peace in this life. I know that this church is the same church that Jesus Christ himself set up during his mortal ministry, and that it was brought back in its fulness through the prophet Joseph Smith. I am a Mormon because I have read the Book of Mormon and prayed about it and received a spiritual confirmation that it is true. This happened when I was 19 years old. It was a feeling of great peace and comfort that simply came over me. It is hard to describe, but I know I felt it and that it was real. Simply, I feel that this is the best course through which I can have the greatest joys in this life and the life to come.

How I live my faith

I live my faith in many ways. At church, my wife and I are in charge of a class of eight 4-year-old girls. We teach them some simple lessons like honesty and forgiveness. We also enjoys playing with them and just being with them. From time to time I will also give speeches or prayers in front of the congregation at church. I enjoy speaking because it forces me to learn more about God and His doctrines. I also live my faith through my every day actions. I strive to be honest and trustworthy. I love to serve others as well. I feel this is one of the most fulfilling activities. I also strive to study and continue learning from the scriptures and word of the prophets. I also pray often to try to keep a close relationship with my Father in Heaven.

What does Mormonism teach regarding baptism?

Mason
We believe that baptism is something that must be done in order to be saved. However, it must be done in the proper way and by the proper authority. We believe that one must be immersed in the water. We also believe that the authority of God was restored to the earth through Joseph Smith when Peter, James and John of the New Testament came and laid their hands on his head and gave him this priesthood. We make covenants with God when we are baptized to always obey Him. I felt very clean and like I was starting a new life when I was baptized. Show more Show less
