Hi I'm Bill

I'm a Mormon. I grew up in the hills of the Ozark Mountains, but have lived in several western states. My passion is genealogy.

About Me

Since the age of eighteen, my major interest has been genealogy, which in 1972 became not only a hobby but also a business. Other interests have included chess, organic gardening, reading non-fiction literature, collecting trade tokens, mathematical recreations, martial arts, and the study of Christianity and Oriental religions. I enjoy hiking in the wilderness, have traveled over much of the western United States, and have been to the southern border of Mexico and to the Arctic Circle in Alaska. I am a 3rd degree black belt in Tai Kwon-Do, and taught that discipline for seven years, but I no longer practice. I am the proud father of nine children, one of whom is deceased, and nine grandchildren. I am quite conservative in my political outlook, and have always voted Republican. I am a fiscal conservative, and am alarmed at the massive debt of the federal government. I also am a social conservative, following traditional and family oriented values.

Why I am a Mormon

I joined The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in 1962. Over the years I have struggled with doubts about religion, but at present am quite active in my faith. After many years of pondering and wavering, I finally came to the conclusion that the things which I don't understand should not keep me from living by those principles which I know to be true. The teachings of the LDS Church are extremely consistent with the Bible. I believe in the saving grace of Jesus Christ, and look forward with hope to being with my family and loved ones in the eternities.

How I live my faith

My callings in the Church have included teaching and leadership positions. Throughout my life I have been fascinated with genealogy, and have spent countless hours tracing my family history. I have use the information to submit thousands of names to the temples, so that my ancestors and other relatives can have the opportunity for salvation and exaultation.
