Hi I'm Dumdi

I'm a big sister, a best friend, a dancer, and a believer in second chances. I find joy in simplicity. And I'm a Mormon!

About Me

I'm the oldest of 6. I'm a Nigerian native and in my culture it's all about food, music, dance, family, and God (in no particular order). My family moved to Texas when I was only 8 years old and I've grown to love the Texas culture. The food, the people, and the southern hospitality! I love to dance, it's one of many ways I know how to express myself. I love to be out and about! I love to play soccer, ultimate Frisbee, volleyball, football and many more! I love to run and sometimes I like to pause and just appreciate God's creations. II love culture and diversity and the food that comes with it! When I can find some down time I'm either with my family, chatting with friends, watching a movie, or reading a good book. I also appreciate clean humor! I attend school in Idaho, where I'm working on a degree in Social Work. My goal is to some day be able to work with at-risk youth. I want to help adolescents realize their great potential and that the hard things they are experiencing at the time is not what will forever be. I also, want to help them gain confidence in themselves and help them rise above their trials.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because I love to serve. And my faith is all about service. When Christ came He served every single person He came in contact with in big and small ways. He is an amazing example of pure love and devoted service. I'm not perfect and I know that wholeheartedly, but because of Christ and His great sacrifice on my behalf, I can be an instrument for good in this world. I chose to be Mormon when I chose, for myself, to be baptized at the age of 12. I didn't understand what being baptized a member of Christ's church meant until I was 18 years old and experienced some things that tested the core of my faith. It was when I let go of my pride and exercised a great deal of faith in Christ that I was able to find out who I was and am exactly in this big world. I know for a surety that I have a Father in Heaven who loves me and you. Being a member of this Church gives me the assurance that I can find peace despite chaos.

How I live my faith

I believe that the best way to truly live anything is by example. So that's how I live my faith! I do my best to be an influence for good. Also, for 18 months I served a volunteer full-time mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in California. Serving a mission is the hardest and most rewarding decision I've made at this point in my life. I love that I had the privilege and honor to witness individuals literally make changes in their lives that is in direct correlation with the teachings of Christ. I love seeing people be happy because of their knowledge of the Gospel and God's plan for them.
