Hi I'm Jenna.

I grew up in California. I teach Zumba classes. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a student going to school to become an English Teacher. It took me a year to figure out that the medical field wasn't for me and I'm so happy with switching my major. I love to teach! Over the summers I teach swim lessons for little kids and I've often taught classes in church meetings on Sundays. I'm a registered Zumba teacher as well. I'm the oldest in my family and that makes me a take control kind of person. I like organizing group activities and keeping updated with my friends and their lives.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon, a member of The Church of Jesus Christ, because of the countless ways it blesses my life. At an age where I am progressing past living at home and breaking out into the world as an individual separate from the family I grew up with, I lean on the Lord and the strength we can gain through his help. When life get's confusing, or draining, or it just seems impossible to get through the day, I know that I can get on my knees and pray for comfort, peace, and direction. There have been many times where I cannot see past the hardships I am facing and I need to step back and look at why I am here on this earth going through such challenges. We are put through hard times so that we will become stronger. I know that each unbearable trial can be borne because the Savior knows our needs and as we ask for his help, he will willingly give it. I am a Mormon because in my most hopeless and desolate days, this church is the beacon that leads me to Christ and the power of his love and individual concern for each of us.

How I live my faith

Every day I try to reach out to the people around me who need a friend. I try to brighten the lives of the people I interact with by being positive. Every week I help out at our church building and tutor kids that come in and need help with their various homework assignments. We also get to help teach their parents to speak stronger English and I apply my somewhat existent Spanish skills there. Every month I set up a time to talk and teach two girls who live on my street. We discuss topics regarding what the current Prophet wants us to focus on. I also check up with the girls in my church group to make sure we are all visiting each other and staying connected.

What is being a Mormon like?

Being a Mormon gives me direction. Because of the standards we have in the church, I know I can follow these standards and be safe from some of the rougher parts of the world. Because Mormons do not drink or smoke, I avoided addictions and behaviors that can result from abusing these substances. I am protected because of the guidelines of the church. Show more Show less
