Hi I'm D. Ray Hickman

I am the father of 7 children and married to my high school sweetheart. I hunt, fish, play golf and love Thai food. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a father of 7, grandfather of 17. Love my family and my wife of 44 years. My high school sweet heart married me during the height of the Viet Nam war. My draft number was just over the horizon. We were the youngest couple at the time to be married in the Los Angeles Temple In 1967. After our marriage the draft board curtailed members from getting deferments for missions. Only 1 young man could leave from any ward very 6 months. My best friend was single and ready to serve a mission. He went on my mission to Bolivia, as I had a marriage deferment. I love hunting, shooting, fishing, golf and playing with my grand kids. I have lived in 3 States over my life time, being born under the covenant in Tucson, AZ to a pioneer mother and convert father.

Why I am a Mormon

My conversion came at a very early age. I felt the spirit as I learned about the boy prophet Joseph Smith and his vision. The confirmation of the truth of that visitation burned in my chest even as a small boy. I have been to ancient sites in South America and seen with my eyes the truth of the ancient people and divinity of Jesus Christ's visit to the Americas. The vision happened, the Book of Mormon is true scripture and this is His work and glory.

How I live my faith

I am currently involved with young single adults. College students and the like. They are valiant and striving in this world of fakery and deception. I have served in many callings throughout my life. Non compares to working with young people. I have served 3 2 year missions, all stateside and try every day to honor my covenants and priesthood.
