Hi I'm Gabe

I grew up in a family of 9. I was raised by a single mother after the age of 10. I am studying to be a Cardiologist. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am the 2nd youngest out of 7. I am going to college right now. I have wanted to be a cardiologist since high school so I am working toward that goal. I am also trying to renovate a small house, but that isn't going so well. I used to skateboard but I lost the time to keep it going. I really enjoy the outdoors and I try to spend as much free time as I can outside.

Why I am a Mormon

I have been through a lot in my past and I honestly don't know how many times I have felt like I had nowhere else to go. I remember feeling all alone and that my heart was going to burst with all the pain I was going through. Sometimes I would find a place that was quiet and I would just pour my heart out in prayer to Heavenly Father. I did this so that I could feel the comfort it gave me of just knowing there was some one I could talk to. Eventually I hit what people call rock bottom. I broke down, but with the help of my family, I was able to work my way back into reality. That was when I was introduced to the Book of Mormon. I had always known about it but I had no idea what it was about. I thought that if there was any truth to the book, and that it actually was another testament of Jesus Christ, then I had to read it. Before I read it I remembered the feelings I had when I would pray in times of need. I figured that if I read it and I got those same feelings I had that comforted me, then the Book of Mormon must really be a true testament of God and I couldn't just pass it by. So I read it. Needless to say, I felt those same feelings. There were times that I almost felt overwhelmed with the feeling of love I would receive while reading it. I finished it in less then a month and I will never forget that comforting feeling I received while reading and praying about it. I know that we are all here on this earth for a purpose. The challenges I have been through and continue to go through are what give me the strength to hold onto my faith in Christ. He was there for me when I needed him and He will always be there for me. I have learned that no matter how hard this life seems, Jesus Christ knows what we are going through and he wants us to go to him for guidance and comfort in all things.

How I live my faith

At church I have the reward of teaching the children. I enjoy talking to them about the gospel of Jesus Christ. It's a big responsibility to teach about Christ and I feel it's a blessing to have the opportunity to lead by example and to help them learn about the teachings of Christ.
