Hi I'm Ian

I'm half deaf but can be loud! I love spending time with my family and friends, i play lacrosse! And I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm one pretty normal person! I'm a happy, positive, hard working, loud, hungry, funny (at least i think so), half deaf person who loves life! I can grow a pretty sweet beard! I am a pretty easy going person who is all about having fun by spending time with family and friends! I grew up mostly in Utah, but i don't snowboard or ski, pretty lame! I have come to the conclusion that if someone really loves the snow they show that love by sledding! Sports are what i'm all about, i started playing lacrosse in 5th grade and my siblings grew up playing lacrosse also so you can say that that's my favorite sport by far! But i love most other sports, you name it i'll play it, i may not be good at it but i'll still play it! Growing up me and my buddies spent a lot of our time playing sports or at the gym! Since i can remember i was watching sports either on TV or at the games with my family! Big sports family! Big sports fan! I am currently a missionary in the California Carlsbad mission and i love it! California is a beautiful place filled with some great people, a lot of palm trees, and even more sun! After the mission i plan on going to college, working somewhere, hopefully playing lacrosse, and hopefully figuring out what i want to do with my life! Not too specific right? It's going to be a crazy journey but i'm excited for it!

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because i know it's true, i have seen Christ's influence in my life as i have followed His teachings. I grew up with incredible parents who have very strong testimonies of the Gospel, but i had to come to find out for myself if it was true or not. And the way i went about that is very simple but means so much to me. It started by that great foundation my parents set for me by reading the Book of Mormon and Bible. So i started to read it on my own and saw, but most importantly felt a difference. Yes i was young, around 14, and i didn't understand everything i was reading. But i understood it was something good and real. It took me quite some time but i finished the Book of Mormon and knew what i had to do after that. So i knelt in humble prayer to ask our loving Father in Heaven if what i had read was true. After praying i sat silently on my living room chair and that is when i felt that distinct peaceful feeling of the Holy Ghost and right then and there i knew it was true. And there have been countless other times in my life that i have felt that Spirit testify to me that this was true which has strengthened my testimony so much. I don't know every little thing about this great Gospel but i know it's true. And have seen the fruits of living His teachings. And because of that i know that what i'm doing, what i'm living, what i believe is right and is for everyone.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by serving Him here in California and by bearing testimony to those who i meet. By reaching out to His children with love and inviting them to come closer to Christ by following His example and doing what He would have us do. I try and live my faith by being happy and up-beat, by smiling and by being excited about it all, because it is something to be excited about, life is something to be excited about!
