Hi I'm Kathy

I was born in Texas but grew up in Mexico. I am a Mormon.

About Me

My husband and I own our own business, KLM Builders, where we presently mostly do remodeling. Most importantly, I am a wife to a wonderful hard working man. We have been married for 27 years. We are parents of three beautiful children, a son and two daughters. We were blessed to have a beautiful daughter-in-law join our family last December. We are looking forward to the day we can be blessed with grandchildren. I work with a friend when needed in her estate business. I love to cook, sew and do anything where I can be creative and let the creative juices flow! I love to watch sports, especially the Diamondbacks and the Suns.

Why I am a Mormon

I was blessed to be born into a family who already had the gospel in their lives. I grew up in the Mormon colonies in Mexico. This was a wonderful experience for me. I gained my testimony at a young age as we learned to rely on the Lord and saw my prayers being answered over and over again. My parents have always been wonderful examples to me of living the gospel daily as they have served those around them. It is because of their example that I have learned how to serve those around me. I am a twin and we are the oldest of 8 children. I have 3 sisters and 4 brothers. I along with my 4 youngest brothers have all served missions for the church. I was blessed to serve my mission in the Santo Domingo Dominican Republic Mission. There is not a day go by where I don’t have thoughts come to me of those wonderful people. This experience has blessed me throughout my life. I had always grown up loving the scriptures and was grateful for the opportunity to share the Book of Mormon 24/7 with wonderful sons and daughters of our Heavenly Father on that beautiful island 30 years ago. I had so many spiritual experiences then and have continued to have experiences now that testify to me of the restored gospel here upon the earth today. I feel honored and blessed to be a member of the restored gospel with a living prophet to lead, guide and direct us in these latter days. I know our Savior lives and that he loves each one of us and is aware of us. The gospel is the center of my life.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by trying to see and help others as Christ would. Each morning as I say my prayers, I pray that I can be guided by the spirit in knowing how I can be an instrument in our Saviors hands that day. I have had many callings in the church that have strengthened me and helped me grow closer to my Heavenly Father and Savior, Jesus Christ. I currently serve as the president over the women in our congregation where I am able to help the women 18 years of age and up, increase their faith and personal righteousness, helping them to strengthen their families and homes and most importantly help those in need. I am grateful that my hands can be of service to our Savior’s hands at this time when so many are struggling. I testify that there is no greater joy than to be of service to those around me, not only at church but those in my neighborhood and community.
