Hi I'm Joel

I live, I work hard, I play hard! I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in western Washington. I like to travel, explore, and see new things. I am an outdoors kind of guy. I like to hunt and fish and enjoy mother nature. I like to pretty much do all that I can during all of the seasons. Like surf and wake board during the summer and snowboard and snowmobile during the winter. And play pretty much all of the other sports that fall in between those seasons. I like to spend time with my family and especially my little nephews. I love my family and look forward to finding my eternal companion and starting my own family. I currently am going to college. I am quite involved with the community and projects round about. I love art and enjoy pushing my imagination to new heights. I love my friends and enjoy spending time with them and making memories that will last for a lifetime. I like to cook because I like to eat. So I find myself in the kitchen quite a bit making stuff to eat and for my roommates.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a mormon because I have a testimony of its divinity and truthfulness. I was born into the church and grew up applying the gospel principles and doctrines since childhood. I have prayed about the church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and its origin, I have prayed about the Book of Mormon Another Testament of Jesus Christ, and having done so I have received a conviction that these things are true. I have consistently prayed about the Book of Mormon and continue to receive a confirmation of its truthfulness. I served a full-time mission in the country of Buenos Aires, Argentina. I know the the Prophet Joseph Smith saw God the Father and His Son Jesus Christ. I know he was guided and given the power and authority and direction in restoring the Christ's church. I know that Thomas S. Monson is our current prophet today who leads and guides this church.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by serving in my community and helping out whenever I can. I like to help clean up parks, build homes, and help people move. I am the ward historian for my ward. So I update the ward's bulletin of the upcoming events and activities. Also I report on those events by taking pictures and spreading the word of how much fun and beneficial these activities are for us as young single adults. I like to participate in all the activities that I am able to do because I have a testimony that they are for my well being and self worth. Another way I live my faith is through music and dance. At the university I dance in the department called Living Legends. We are a department of dance that consists of Latin American, Native American, and Polynesian American cultures. We perform traditional dances and sing songs from each of these cultures. I live my faith through my service to others and by expressing the gospel of Jesus Christ through my culture. I live my faith by volunteering my time to help translate Spanish for teachers and parents at local elementary schools. I live my faith by trying to be the good in someone's life everyday. I live my faith by understanding that I can't do everything for everyone but rather I can do something for someone.
