Hi I'm Belinda

I'm a Mormon. My husband of 23 years and I have 6 children. I love reading, music, cycling, running and meeting new people.

About Me

I grew up in a mormon home with parents who came from different religions and converted in their adulthood. I graduated from nursing school and worked while my husband was getting his degree in engineering. I currently am a stay at home mom but works as a volunteer for a catholic based mission which provides health care to the needy. I enjoy working with others of different faiths because I know that understanding others beliefs and backgrounds engenders love and peace in our community. I feel that I am fullfilling my mission in life through motherhood. I love my children and am very glad my husband supports this decision and recognizes the importance of a mother. I enjoy time spent with my family. I also love to cycle, run, read, garden, hike and my new found sport of snorkeling is the bomb!

Why I am a Mormon

I have chosen to continue to be an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints because I have felt the peace that comes from living the teachings of this church. I have been given a witness through the Holy Spirit that my church is led by a prophet of God and that the organization of it mirrors that which Christ established when he live on the earth. I have also recieved a confirmation through God's holy spirit that the Book of Mormon is a pure, unalerted, unadulterated book of sacred scripture translated by a mortal man named Joseph Smith who was given power from God to do so. I continue to stay a Mormon because I can see that admist this world of changing values my church will not shift in its beliefs or status. Following the principles taught by me in this church has sustained our marriage through difficult times, gives my children a sure guide to follow and grants me serenity.

How I live my faith

I participate in my church by teaching the children ages 3-11 each Sunday. I also serve in the cub scouting program occasionally. Because of my love and gift for music I volunteer to play the piano/organ for our chior. I guess I live my faith best because I believe that in giving service to others I am in some small way trying to show God my gratitude to Him for his Son, Jesus Christ. I try to live a life patterned after His teachings. I know I make mistakes and do and say things that are hurtful or inappropriate at times but I live my faith because I keep trying and make use of the gift of repentance. I believe in forgiveness and grace.
