Hi I'm Deanna

I'm a musician and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love singing, playing the piano, gardening and teaching an early morning high school seminary class. I have a wonderful husband and I am proud of his accomplishments. He is employed in the mining industry, and we have been able to travel to some exotic and wonderful places in the world. We have two amazing children, a son and a daughter who are currently very busy attending college and working. I am happy that they are making good choices in their lives, and that they are striving to be better people each and every day.

Why I am a Mormon

Being a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has blessed my life in countless ways. I have developed a deep love for my Savior, Jesus Christ, and His teachings. The longer I live, the more I realize that we are here on earth to learn to love others and to try to become more like Jesus. We are tested to see if we will choose good over evil, and to see if we will endure and overcome the trials that are given to us. I have had hurdles in my life that I have had to jump over, but every one of them has taught me valuable lessons. Life takes on new meaning as I try to stay focused on the important things.

How I live my faith

I have been given assignments in the Church that have challenged me, and as a result, I have been able to develop talents that would not have been available to me otherwise. Many of my opportunities to serve others have been musical, but most of the rest of them have been leadership positions with youth groups. One of the joys of my life is working with teenagers. I am currently team teaching a biblical Old Testament course to a group of high school juniors and seniors that meet each morning at 6:30 a.m. Now that's dedication! How many young people in the world today would get up at the crack of dawn to attend a religion class before school even begins? That is true discipleship. I am very grateful to be a Mormon. My life is infinitely better because I am.
