Hi I'm Michelle

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My life can be explained in 5's. I am the mother of 5 wonderful kids. My husband and I have been married for 5 years, times three. The joy and love has multiplied as well. I have lived in 5 states, Arizona, Utah, Wisconsin, Michigan, and Arizona again. Arizona gets counted twice because it is such a diverse state. I have 5 siblings and my husband has 5 siblings. It has been 5 years since I have played softball, my sport of choice; makes me sad just to think about it. I run 5 days a week but have only ever run more than 5 miles at a time probably 5 times. I got a degree in Recreational Therapy and worked 5 different jobs in my field before my kids came along. I am grateful I get to be a full time mom and do 5 things at once all day long. There are 5 things I still do for myself: study scriptures, pray, read, exercise and watch cooking shows. My life is simple but 5 times greater than I could have imagined.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I know that Jesus Christ restored His Church to the earth. I know that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints was set up by Him through the prophet Joseph Smith. I know this to be true because the Holy Ghost has touched my heart over and over and I cannot deny it. It has testified to me that the Book of Mormon is true, that there is a current prophet on the earth, that He has a plan for me personally, that families can be together forever, that the priesthood is the power of God given to man, and so much more. Most of the time these experiences with the Spirit have not been grandiose, but a subtle yet poignant feeling I know comes not of myself. As I live Jesus Christ's gospel the Spirit tells me what I am doing is right. I know it is true so I have thrown my whole self into the Church and His work.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by teaching my children about Jesus Christ, and God, our Heavenly Father. I teach them the stories from the scriptures that they can learn how to follow the Savior, to have faith, repent, be baptized and learn to listen to and follow the Holy Ghost. I teach them to trust in Jesus, to learn to have charity for others, to listen to the prophet and that they can pray anytime anywhere. I teach my children through example that we are weak and make mistakes, but that because of Jesus we can ask others for forgiveness, ask God for forgiveness, then move forward trying to do better. I teach them that this is repentance and that we need to do it every day. I teach them that they are important because God loves them and Jesus Christ loves them. By teaching my children the Gospel of Jesus Christ, it helps me better live my faith by increasing my understanding and strengthening my testimony. This brings peace and happiness in our home. Not perfection and without stress at times. But peace, direction, joy and love. There is nothing more important and I am grateful I have the Gospel of Jesus Christ in my life.
