Hi I'm Andreas

I study engineering. I am a motorcycle enthusiast and a fan of the outdoors. I am a husband and a father. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am currently attending college, studying to become a building systems engineer. I work at my university as an assistant to the director of sustainability. It is my job to find ways to make the university more sustainable, and I love it. I've learned so much about how buildings work and hope to one day design the systems for skyscrapers. I also make sure to spend plenty of time with my family. I have a toddler-aged son, and I can't believe how much I love him. It's so much fun to watch him grow up and learn about the world around him, although sometimes I wish we would have never taught him to say "no." I enjoy riding my sport motorcycle along mountain roads, although my wife isn't overly thrilled that I own one. I can't seem to stay away from the outdoors, whether it be hiking, mountain biking, or rock climbing. I consider myself very lucky to be able to have all of these wonderful things in my life, and am thankful for all the opportunities I've had in my life.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because throughout my life I have had very subtle experiences that have built up my testimony of this church. Although I grew up in the church, I believe I became truly converted to this gospel in my young adult life. Finishing the Book of Mormon for the first time was the crowning moment in my conversion. Reading through the pages, I just felt that every passage was truly written by ancient prophets, meant for me in this day. This gospel provides me with the peace and comfort I need to survive the trials facing everyone today. I can't imagine living without the knowledge I have of a Heavenly Father who knows me intimately and loves me unconditionally. I know that if I strive to follow His commandments, one day I'll be able to return to Him and experience more happiness than I can imagine. Being a member of this church gives me the strength to overcome my trials, and I know it will lead me to immense joy.

How I live my faith

I currently serve as a ward missionary in my local ward. It's been a wonderful blessing as I've been able to share my testimony with those that are interested in this church. It's allowed me to feel the Spirit of our Heavenly Father countless times, and I know I've been blessed as I fulfill my duties to serve others. I also try to live my faith by following the example of our Savior, Jesus Christ. He is the perfect example of what we all should do, and it's my goal in life to become more like Him each and every day. I feel His love as I study the scriptures, pray, and serve others. It's absolutely amazing to have the peace and comfort that comes from having the presence of the Holy Spirit with you, and I try to make everything I do something that will bring this presence into my life.
