Hi I'm Rachel

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have an advanced diploma in Business Administration and I am currently studying to get my degree in Economics at University. Eventually I want to work for the Government at Statistics Canada. I absolutely love science and space & I wish I could be an Astronaut. I love winter, Antarctica, igloos, all animals, and mathematics. My favourite food is Cheese, and my favourite dessert is Ice Cream. My husband and I were married and sealed in the Temple in June of this year. It absolutely without a doubt was the happiest day of my life. I am so excited to be married to him, to be a family together. I am so in love with him. He has helped me become the person I am today, and I wouldn't have it any other way.

Why I am a Mormon

I love being a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I have been a member all my life, but it wasn't until recently that I became interested and started following the Gospel and doctrine. It all started with my brother, who is currently serving a mission in Alberta. He and I had become very close over the years, neither of us having a place in our lives for religion. When he started to go to church on a weekly basis a few years ago I started to see a change in him. The biggest change I saw was that he was genuinely much happier. He was not afraid to share his beliefs with others, and I am so grateful for that. Through him I have become an active member, recently being sealed in the Temple to my husband. I have such a strong testimony of missionaries, families and especially friends. Both members and non-members, I am thankful to have them in my life. I am grateful for the experiences I have had and the choices I have made in my life. I am not proud of them all, but I'm grateful for them. I used to live an entirely different life, one in which I did not believe in God at all. I used to believe I had everything I wanted in life, that I was happy. But now, being an active member, I see things differently. I know how I felt before and I know what I feel now, and I feel amazing. I feel loved, important, significant. I know that Jesus Christ and my Father in Heaven love me. My past experiences help me to relate to others, it has helped me to make many new friends. I love everything about this wonderful Church. I am grateful that we have a prophet on the Earth today who receives revelation from God. I have peace & joy & happiness in my life because of the changes and choices I have recently made and I want to share that with others, especially those in my life whom I care about the most. I love being a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I am a Primary Teacher, teaching children ages 4 & 5. This is the first calling I have ever had and I absolutely love it! Being a recent "re-convert" (as I call myself) I do not remember much of the doctrine I was taught over the years. Sometimes I feel as though I am learning the Gospel for the first time. In teaching these children I have an opportunity to understand the teachings myself. I am fascinated by the Scriptures. I love reading the Book of Mormon with my husband every night and saying family prayer together. I truly feel closer to both God and my husband when I do these things. I have learned the importance of keeping God in my heart and having the knowledge of the Gospel helps me do so, which brings peace and joy into my life.
