Hi I'm Jennifer Hochstrasser

I'm a Missionary in the Tennessee Nashville mission, serving in Paducah, Kentucky! I'm a big sister, friend, and social butterfly!

About Me

I am a Sister Missionary! I love sharing with people the message of the restored gospel that has changed my life, and seeing it change theirs. Before my mission I was at BYU-I being a nerd. I'm passionate about learning, but I'm also a social butterfly. Some of my hobbies include American Sign Language, dancing, writing, and making people's day :)

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised in this church. As a child, I depended on my parents testimony to guide me in my choices, but as I've grown I've began to realize for myself the truthfulness of the gospel. Everyday I develop a deaper love for my Heavenly Father and his Son, Jesus Christ. I can't help but wonder where I would be without Christ's church, because with it my life has been incredibly blessed. I love going to church, I love being a missionary, and I love being Mormon. If anything, I am a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints because of the deep and eternal joy that it gives me, for the lives that it changes, the power it holds, and the truth that it brings. I am currently out to spread the truth to the people of Nashville Tennessee. But even after that, I will never stop being a missionary! It will just consist of doing it with the people that surround me in my everyday life- because everybody everybody EVERYBODY deserves an opportunity to witness the truth for themselves :)

How I live my faith

Some call it crazy, others devoted, and I've even heard "boring" As for me? I say it's fun! I wake up everyday at 6:30 AM and go to bed every night by 10:30 PM. In between these hours, I can be found studying like crazy from my scriptures to better understand the word of God. I spend everyday out teaching people I come into contact with, trying to help others to come unto Christ. You see, I LOVE THIS GOSPEL and I know it's true with all my heart. It's important to me to help everyone receive the happiness and awesome blessing that come from living the gospel of Jesus Christ and being a member of the same church that He established when He was on the earth. I have devoted 18 months of my life to helping the people of Tennessee and Kentucky come closer to their Savior and to have them baptized in the name of Christ by the proper authority. I pay for my own mission, and it's something I have chosen to be a part of by my own free will. Being a representative of Jesus Christ is probably the hardest, most best thing that has ever happened to me. I love it so much! This church is a very integral part of my life, I wouldn't trade it for anything!

Why do Mormons believe in the Bible?

Jennifer Hochstrasser
One of the 13 points of our religion (we call them "Articles of Faith") states that: "We believe the Bible to be the word of God, as far as it is translated correctly. We also believe the Book of Mormon to be the word of God". Jesus Christ is the head of this church. We know that the Bible contains the teachings of Jesus Christ and is an ancient record of his dealings with man. It witnesses of Christ. Because our faith his centered on Him, it only makes senses that we read scripture that testsifies of the truth of Him! Show more Show less
