Hi I'm Stephanie Taylor

I was raised by scouters. I'd rather hike than sunbathe. I'm working to fund my husband's schooling. And I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a young wife, married to a young college student. I work full time to fund his schooling, and even though it's a lot of time on my feet, I'm glad I am capable of providing for us. I love to study anything and everything. I spent most of my adolescence in the Uintah Mountains either with my family, or working at a camp for the BSA. I spent nine years playing the cello in every symphony, orchestra, pit, or quartet I could get into. I enjoy playing with hair and makeup, even though I don't feel the need to put it on my own face, and I love a good impromptu dance party in the kitchen.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the church, but I have since learned for myself that the gospel is true through reading the scriptures. I love reading the scriptures, every page, every word testifies of Christ. Some people say that we don't believe in the bible because we have the Book of Mormon, this is not true. I love the Bible, and believe it to be the word of God, just as much as the Book of Mormon.

How I live my faith

I help teach a class on Sundays devoted to family history work, and love helping people connect with their heritage. I also love working on my own family history! It's so satisfying to find the names of my great-grandparents, and learn their stories, and I love being able to take their names to the temple and do proxy work for them there.

Are all Mormons required to serve a mission?

Stephanie Taylor
The church does not require us by any means to serve a mission. Young men are strongly encouraged to serve, but even then, they are not required to do so. Most young men that I know choose to serve because they find such great joy in the gospel and want to share it with others. Young women are also encouraged to serve, but it is a choice to be made by each individual. I chose not to serve a mission because the opportunity to marry came first for me. I prayed and pondered a lot about the decision, but it felt right to get married instead. Show more Show less
