Hi I'm Brenden

I'm a returned missionary, a loving father of two, and a husband. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My wife and I have two beautiful children, Cymbra and Mateaki. I grew up in the LDS church, and found my personal testimony in High School. A loving family and a great seminary teacher helped me discover the joys of the gospel, and because of their influence and teachings, I went on to serve a mission for the church in 2007. I served in the Tongan Islands for several months, then after facing some personal health issues, I transferred to the United States and finished my mission in the Florida, Tallahassee Mission. My wife, whom I have known since age 4, also grew up in the church, and we were married in the Manti, Utah temple for time and all eternity.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon for many reasons, but the most important to me is that through the teachings of the LDS faith, I've been able to recognize the hand of the lord in my life in ways I'd never dreamed possible. He has guided me through the lowest points of my life, and has shown me that even when I thought everything was falling apart, he was leading me towards something better. Through my personal study of the Book of Mormon and Doctrine and Covenants, I've learned that when life seems to be at it's hardest, the Lord is simply putting us into the refiner's fire, so that we can be cleansed from our impurities and made stronger. As he promised in the days of old, He will not tempt us above what we are able, and not a single hair shall fall from our heads unnoticed by the son of God. I have felt the cleansing, healing, and enabling power of Christ's atonement in my life, and know beyond any doubt that he is real, that his sacrifice was real, and that he lives and leads his children today.

How I live my faith

I live my faith the same way I live my life, one day and one step at a time. My spiritual knowledge grows day by day as I study his word and try to live by his example. I try to find opportunities to serve others, and when life's winds blow their hardest and the clouds above seem black and dreary, I fall to my knees and ask my Heavenly Father what it is he would have me do. I'm not perfect, but I know that what I am doing and what I strive to be makes me happy and lets me feel closer to my savior.
