Hi I'm Cindy

I am a Southern California transplant living in Georgia. The gospel is my strength, and my family is my joy. I am a Mormon.

About Me

When my husband was severely injured in a car accident, I found myself acting as a single parent as well as needing to be a nurse to him. I spent the next fourteen years taking care of him as well as raising our four children. Right from the beginning the faith I had in knowing that the Lord will not give me more than I can bear has helped me deal with the challenges life has brought. There were times over the years that I felt the blessings of the Lord in my life giving me strength to meet the challenges I faced. My husband has passed on now, and our children have grown up to be fine young adults. My family and my faith are what have sustained me through it all. I have had callings at Church that have helped me to continue to study and grown in the gospel. I have worked with the young women, been a teacher in the Relief Society women's organization, been a den leader in the Cub Scout program, and I'm currently working in Primary with the children. I when I'm not working I enjoy bike riding, walks, gardening, reading, cooking, politics, and spending time with my family.

Why I am a Mormon

Although I've been a member all my life, as a teenager and young adult I strayed from the path I had been taught. I had a pivotal point that changed me when I was in my early 20's as I was thinking one night about my life and all the bad things that had happened to me and the deep sadness I felt at that time. I realized then that it was because I had made wrong choices in my life, and realized that had I done the things I had been taught at Church, many of those wrong choices wouldn't have happened. Through prayer and repenting a feeling of love came over me so strong that I knew without a doubt that God is real, that He had heard my prayers, He knows me and knows my heart, and loves and accepts me. I stepped back onto the road of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and it has brought great blessings and happiness into my life, and has given me the strength to get through life's challenges I've faced since.

How I live my faith

Simply, I live my faith by trying to live my life by the gospel standards I have learned through my church membership, and through personally studying the gospel. I try to be a good example that others will want to follows.
