Hi I'm Kortni

I go to college at Northern Arizona University. I believe music is healing. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My name is Kortni. I'm a pure blood Arizona girl who loves the sun. I'm a college freshman and sometimes stress gets the best of me. My family, my church, music, and my friends get me through each day. Although my life isn't perfect, as I continue thinking good things are happening to me, they do. I joined Best Buddies my sophomore year expecting to make a diffence in a disabled student's life. I didn't anticipate my life being impacted and strengenthed through the friendship I made. As I being college, I hope to befriend and impact for the better all those that I can. I like to laugh, and be spontaneous. I'm an average student trying to succeed in all I do.

Why I am a Mormon

It would be easy to say I'm a Mormon because I was born into it. But if that was the real reason and I wasn't born into it, I wouldn't be a Mormon. There must be more reason because I constantly think how lost I would be if I wasn't a part of this church. I am a Mormon because I seek truth. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints has given me that. I am a Mormon because the morals it teaches me make sense. They keep me alive, healthy, and happy. I am a Mormon because no matter my problem or stress, Heavenly Father continues to strengthen, comfort, and guide me. I am a Mormon because it simply makes and keeps me happy. Knowing Heavenly Father knows and love me, knowing there is life after death, knowing I don't have to carry the weight of the stupid the things I do, knowing good things come to the righteous choices I make; it all keeps me happy. I am a Mormon because I know the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is true.

How I live my faith

I strive every day to live by the things I know. I work and pray my hardest. I try to stand up for the right and not give in to the wrong. I choose to associate with people who will build me up as I do the same for them. I try to be honest with everyone including myself so that I may earn the trust of those around me. I want to appear and be happy so that I may spread joy with those who may be in need of a little light. Although I cannot see Him, I know Heavenly Father is continually with me and strive to live my faith as if I could see Him there constantly. I know there is always a light at the end of the tunnel, and I live knowing that I will find that light so that I am worthy of its presence. I seek to find the good in all things, strengthen and comfort those in need, and smile at every person I come in contact with. I live my faith by living the Young Women Values I have learned, and understanding that the commandments given are given to keep me safe.
