Hi I'm Bryan Bennion

I'm from a small town, I write, I dance sometimes while I work, I LOVE music, and yes, I'm Mormon.

About Me

I've grown up in a small town at the base of a ski resort in South Eastern Idaho, a place where everyone knows everyone (well, most everyone). I am the youngest of four sibilngs, all of which are married with children. I work at a wood frame pallet company, it's lots of saw dust and hard work but rewarding all the same. It's repititous work and I get bored sometimes... so I dance a little Swing every now and then. I am also a college student at BYU-Idaho in Rexburg, Idaho, not too far away from my home. I'm a Communication major, I love to play Violin, Cello and create music on the piano... I guess you could say I have a love for music. I'm not good at acting, but I love watching plays, especially if my friends are performing. I'm also a fiction writer, even though I really don't like fiction, but I do love reading, I love reading books of all kinds. I guess what makes me stick out, is my curosity in people, I love to talk and get to know people. Yes, I'm a people pleaser, I can't help it, I love it when people smile. Doing this helps me expand my love and trust of people. I always want to be on everyones good side.

Why I am a Mormon

Why I am a Mormon? That was the big question of my teen years. Growing up in the church with the help of great parents you learn that the Lord invites all worthy young men to serve a mission, that's two years out of myself, out of work and school and a social life. I wasn't sure I wanted to do that and I didn't even know if this Mormon thing was right yet. I devoted much prayer and study to this topic, all the while, my life was slowly slipping out of my fingers. I didn't know if there was a God. I couldn't do it alone, I needed help. I believe it was Christ's atonement that saved me. When I realized where I was headed in life, I commited myself to change, forever, not just for a season. I built my belief in him and held on tight. I'm still changing, I try to do what Jesus taught, keep his commandments, live as he lived, repent and apply his atonement. It's a process, but I'm headed in the right direction now. I know his grace is sufficient. Becuase of his redemption my past is past and my focus is on today and my future, and what I can accomplish. I love His church. You can feel the love everyday you wake up. It's more than just going to church, it's more than just saying "I believe," it's more than just being an active member in the society. I truly know that my Savior is real and lives and that our Heavenly Father hears my every prayer. There is a power in this gospel that you just don't find anywhere else on earth. I don't just think it's right, I know it's right.

How I live my faith

Sure I'm active in church, I strive to read the scriptures everyday and pray as often possible, even if it's a prayer in my heart, but I live my religion through my social interactions with others. I have no hard feelings towards anyone religon, as long as you live what you believe, you have my respect. I'm always willing to help. We may not agree with religion or political topics, we may not live the same life style, wither you are wealthy or dirt poor, common or famous, no matter what, I believe you can always afford to be a nice, decent and positive person. I live a Christian life style. I believe we should strive to help everyone, keep to our beliefs and serve our father in heaven, just as His son Jesus did.

What is the Atonement of Jesus Christ? Why was it necessary for Jesus Christ to sacrifice His life?

Bryan Bennion
The Atonement consists of all the events between Jesus' suffering in Gethsemane and the dying on the cross. It is the most important event in the history of the world. It is at these places that he felt the weight of our sins and our every pain, wither in or outside of the body. He is the only one who can say, "I know what you are going through," because he's been there. His atonement covers all of our sins for every person, I don't understand how he did that, but much like the Lion took the blow for Edmund in S.C. Lewis's series, The Lion the Witch and Wardrobe, we might begin to have an idea of what Jesus did. Jesus Christ did what only he could do in atoning for our sins. However, to make his Atonement fully effective in our individulal lives, we must have faith in him, repent of our sins, be baptized and confirmed by one having authority, reveive the gift of the Holy Ghost, keep his commandments and endure while applying these things in our lives. I promise that as we do these things, we can return to live with him and our Heavenly Father forever Show more Show less
