Hi I'm Tonya

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a Mormon mother of four . . . living an unexpected life in Anchorage, Alaska with my amazing husband. I GET TO be a full-time mom . . . and on the side I get to create . . . from crocheted hats to sewn clothes & toys . . . from Scrapbooks to home decor . . . from handmade journals to refinished furniture . . . and occasionally I cook. You might say that I'm the "Typical Mormon SAHM" - but if you were more accurate, you'd say there's no such thing as a "Typical Mormon SAHM" - rather - you'd be surprised by the life I've lived and the experiences I've have. But in every facet of my life, in every activity, every decision, every experience . . . the Gospel of Jesus Christ is first and foremost.

Why I am a Mormon

I started out Mormon . . . like my parents and their parents and theirs . . . in fact, I'm proud and humbled (yes, that's possible!) to be a descendant of Mormon Pioneers who were persecuted enough to brave the journey west in hopes of settling in peace. I was taught from birth the Gospel of Jesus Christ and raised with love, support, principles and standards. But I've stayed Mormon because I know the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is the true and living Gospel that Jesus Christ himself directs. I have come to KNOW the principles taught in the LDS church are true. I have come to KNOW that Jesus Christ is our Savior. I have come to KNOW the atonement is real and healing. And the best part is . . . I KNOW just as the Prophet KNOWS. I KNOW just as the Apostles KNOW. Each one of us can have just as strong a knowledge as the most revered members. We are all entitled to our own testimony. It's personal. It's real. It's beautiful!

How I live my faith

I wake up a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I go to sleep a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. In between, I make mistakes. I find forgiveness. I try a little harder.
