Hi I'm Alissa

I am from San Diego, California. I love doing things with my family and friends. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am from San Diego California. I love to learn new things every day. I like listening to music, mostly LDS music, playing the piano, and go to activities with families and friends. I always like to improve on things on what I learn. I thank my family and friends for encouraging me to do my best. My goal is to read and study the scriptures everyday, live by the Gospel and help serve others. I love reading the scriptures and I tell myself everyday, "read the Bible and Book of Mormon!" It is something I definately I want to keep doing for the rest of my life. I like drawing things too. Sometimes my friends ask for drawings and like it. I just like to make people smile. I love playing the piano for friends too so they can hear the beautiful sounds of the hymns. I have a love for the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I am a full time missionary serving in Texas Houston East, spanish and english. I love the mission! I hope that there are others who will serve as full time representatives of the Lord! It is definately a wonderful calling and opportunity!

Why I am a Mormon

The answer is I am a Mormon because of my family! I thank them for choosing to follow Jesus Christ and for encouraging us kids to experience things and learn what truly matters in life. I choose to follow Jesus Christ and His teachings. I know that families can be together forever. I am grateful for the Restored Gospel of Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by striving to be who Heavenly Father wants me to be. Reading the scriptures, being kind to others, making people smile and know that they are special brings joy to my heart. Back in San Diego California, I was called as an organist in the my ward. Later I received callings to be a chorister for the Primary and work in the Nursery. I feel that the callings has prepared me to become a missionary and has helped me to be prepared of sharing the gospel with Heavenly Father's children. My family has also played a big part in my life for helping me be who I am today. I love them so very much for it too!

What is the Atonement of Jesus Christ? Why was it necessary for Jesus Christ to sacrifice His life?

Alissa
The Atonement of Jesus Christ is a very deep and sacred event for what happened to our Savior. When He prayed in the Garden of Gethsemane, His soul was filled with sorrow for all the sins that were happening in the world. And for the world today. Jesus Christ suffered for all of us, for our families and our loved ones. Once I came to a better understanding of the Atonement, I felt sad but then felt true joy in my heart. Everyday when I think of Jesus Christ and His Atonement, I feel more and more closer to God. My faith in Him keeps growing and following Him, reading the scriptures, praying to Him and attending church, I feel that I can be with my family and friends forever. I thank our Father in Heaven so much for His love. I am thankful and grateful for our Savior. The Atonement is what keeps me having hope and faith in all things for my family and friends. I know that Jesus Christ is our Savior and He lives. Show more Show less

How can we increase our faith in Jesus Christ?

Alissa
I believe that our faith in Jesus Christ increases when we read the scriptures, believe in Him and His Atonement and attend church every Sunday. Also, when we pray, our faith in Jesus Christ grows because the more we pray, we receive more guidance, more comfort and more holiness in our lives. Show more Show less
