Hi I'm Carly

I'm a Civil Engineering Senior at BYU, I bake when I'm stressed, and my music is always way too loud when I'm driving.

About Me

I live in Utah (originally from the Seattle area) and study at Brigham Young University. I graduate in less than a year and I'm trying to figure out what I should do with my life. I like to hike and climb and explore God's creations. I also love to paint, bake, and photograph people. My favorite thing in the world is my family.

Why I am a Mormon

While I was growing up, I was a Mormon because it was familiar. When I moved out, I had to make the decision that if I was going to stay a member of this church, I had to do it because I had my own testimony about it. I had so many doubts about what I believed, but I knew one fundamental truth--that God loved me and wanted me to be happy. I found the most happiness when I was actively living His commandments and seeking His guidance. Once I decided to read the Book of Mormon, other pieces of light and knowledge just started to click, and after some time, I knew that I was in the right place.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by showing compassion to those around me. I am here to serve others and lift them up. By doing so, I can feel myself grow closer to my Father in Heaven. However, there have often been times when I needed lifting, and I have found comfort in the people around me, but mostly in my Savior. Turning to him in prayer and scripture study has given me strength and peace in a time full of tribulation and growth.
